InuYasha8908
Ok, so I have an old laptop, and the screen cracked on it. It has an old 125gb hd inside of it, and it would be useful to me to pull some files off of it. The os is Xp Pro. So I hook it up to a HDD-usb 2.5" and attempt to pull files onto a new laptop running Windows 7. The Pc only recognizes that there is a partician on the XP harddrive, but no data. Anyone have this happen to them, or would reccomend a solution?
Koby
I don't have much experience with Windows 7, so all I can suggest is maybe hooking the HHD up to another PC running XP to pull the files.
Renzourin
agreed, does it use an IDE cord interface the drive i mean like standard hard drives? if it does you should be able to plug it into a desktop and run it that way
Muiki Sama
If you cant find another comp with xp on it then do this:1: download new 10.04 release of Ubuntu via direct download or torrent2:start your working laptop and burn to disc (might want to use cd-rw in case it messes up)3:restart laptop and choose boot setup menu on the bios screen and pick the dvd drive 4:wait for it to load and pick "try without installing"5:wait for it to load and then connect your hard driveThis way I can still access files on my hard drive without booting win7 (I know the hard drive has xp on it)
