Dark_Angel13
A few people I've noticed play this game so I thought this would be a good place to post our opinions on this great and wacked out game. Also might be a good place to find other people who play this game but that's not really what this is for =)Anyway here's my opinion:The storyline was good but wasnt long enough like in Saints row 2 as I finished this one in 2 days and number 2 took me about a week. The activities are certainly better but a lot simpler as well and too easy, I was hoping for more of a challenge from them. Gaining money in this one at the beginning is more difficult then in number 2 which I enjoyed and you can actually spend money on real things now rather then just having it stack up and be spent on nothing. The phone menu was done well and I was impressed by it. The screen comments that flash up every 20 minutes or so are quite annoying, especially since I've completed the game so surely I know what the Saintsbook is by now or how to do an assassination etc, I'd love for that to go away as it blocks a portion of your screen and often ends up in me running into a car or somthing I dont see because of it.Not enough weapons...Saints Row 2 had a huge array of weapons, this one did not...so not too impressed with that. Also the fact you have to buy duel wielding is annoying, not in that I have to buy it but that once bought I cant go back to just single wielding one firearm. The customization options have been diminished since Saints Row 2 as well, some have been simplified and new ones have been added, I'm not a fan of that either.I know it seems like I hate this game but I do love it, it's great and enjoyable, it just needs some work that's all =). Feel free to give your opinions now, perhaps it will turn into some form of discussion on this game.
coffeeNiK
I agree totally with your points.I felt the same way too. They definitely improved a lot for this game but by doing so, they took off a lot of options that we had in SR2. One of the ones that really really really really made me rage was the ability not to add layers of colors to your hair style and as well as putting the logos on your outfits/accessories.That really helped me personalize my character in SR2.As for the weapons thing...yeah. I basically stuck with one loadout for the entire game. I was however impressed at the MASSIVE improvement of the combat system in this game. They just blew my mind with this set. Cars, customization and driving mechanics were great. I really had a blast jumping into any car and just seeing how I can tweak it out. Story was NOT as epic as SR2. But goddamn, their were some really awesome parts in SR3 that made me say.....ARE YOU SEEING THIS?! WTF!
Dark_Angel13
Hahaha yes it did have quite a few parts like that. The combat system was lovely but I found it way too easy to gain headshots and your pistol seemed to have too great a range as well compared to your smg or rifle.I enjoyed the logos and hair layers in SR2 also, I was disappointed that it didnt return in this game... coffeeNiK
I barely used my Rifle in this game. It was the pistol and SMG throughout. I only used the rifle when I didn't want the SMG to run out of bullets. Then when I upgraded the ammo to Flame rounds.....there was loads of fun to be had. Jªvª
Have to agree so farKinda of a toss up between system features in SR2 and SR3. Each game had its perks and flaws.Although I did love the one liners in SR3 which if you never played SR1 or SR2 you wouldn't get, especially the whole STAG General's Daughter thing.Story was alright, but I agree SR2 had a more epic story line to it.SR3 def a keeper as well funny as hell with the extras, but something about SR2 still holds dear to my heart. Hahaha I only used the pistol and the rifle mostly, the rifle was only good cause I had it fully upgraded to the grenade launcher and box magazine so I had heaps of rounds before reloading, though I used the Deckers smg a lot once I got it =)
Crow Nightroad
Now from the points provided, is the game actually worth getting to be honest. I've been told it's a good game to get, but it doesn't seem something up my alley.
Zanco
I love the game, I was against the game completely at first because it just seemed like a GTA rip off (Not saying I'm a GTA fan, I detest the game), but then I rented, and had my fucking my blown away. Dr.Genki, Zombies, Unfinished games of chess, and TWO equally satisfying endings!? The game is beautiful! I'd buy it and all the expansion packs if I could. Dark_Angel13
The game is certainly worth buying, it just needs a little work but it is quite an enjoyable experience as Zanco mentiond above =)
†Emotional Outlet
As someone who doesn't really stray far from her gaming tastes (turn-based and strategy RPGs, SIMS 5EVER), SR3 is a lot of fun and worth playing. I don't think the game takes itself very seriously a lot of the time, which makes it more interesting to me. It's still a fulfilling and rewarding game even if you're a Cheater McCheaterson like me and turn on infinite ammo/life because I don't have time to get good at shooting people. I just want to dress up my character, beat up the Deckers, and make all of my cars pink.
Crow Nightroad
Hmm, I might consider getting it. Just the big thing is that I'm more of a Hardcore FPS Gamer since the good'ol Halo 2 days and such. And I'm intensely involved in the RTS Community and such

I also enjoy dressing my character and beating up deckers but I don't use pink on my cars, I use black and red =)
†Emotional Outlet
I love to hate the Deckers, mostly because I think their specialist is the best. That shock hammer is way too much fun. All the others didn't really stick with me too much.I generally prefer purple, but having a fleet of candy pink cars was too amusing for me to pass up. My character also runs around with bright pink hair and that anime kitten backpack, because I think it's funnier to beat people up that way.
Zanco
You use the dildo bat too, right? Dildo bat makes every thing funnier.
†Emotional Outlet
I don't use many of the melee weapons. I keep the baseball bat equipped, but if I'm going to go melee, I either just punch things or use the shock hammer.Otherwise I just use grenades everywhere and the octopus gun, haha.
Dark_Angel13
I love the Decker specialist too, shock hammer is epic, I also love the minigun just for the sheer amount of destruction you can cause with it in a matter of seconds haha. On the matter of the anime kitty backpack, I have my characters wearing it too, even my manly man has it just to be cool lol =)Shock hammer ftw! coffeeNiK
It kind of sucks that all they give you is the Kitty backpack but I still have it for ALL my characters. lol.ALso....shock hammer eh DA?How about shooting a Tank across a broken bridge?
