Internet Downloading Issue

Hey guys I have been having trouble lately downloading off some sites. Now these sites have a download system were you click a link that doesn't open a file host, when you click the link a download will usually just open for saving there and then.

Now I have a new laptop and it seems I can no longer do these types of downloads. When I click on the links, instead of the download option appearing I get a 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'.

I have had a quick look through internet options, tried turining off anti-virus and a few other things but I can't seem to get it to work.

Any Ideas?

Try right clicking on the link and selecting save as.

Don't know if that'll work but it's worth a try.

Could also be simply the site has blocked you, your ISP has blocked you, or the site is down.

I gave it a try, right click doesn't bring up any of the side bars that usually come up. I have to go back to work (im currently on lunch) so when I get back ill post some picture of some of the sites im trying to use, what im doing and whats happening.

Edit:

These screen shots give a small insight into my issue.

Screen Shot one shows the site animextemist, this is were I sometimes download my anime openings and endings. The red squares show the download links, once click the download starts.

Image 2 shows the results of my clicking on the link. Instead of a download I get this web page:

Another time I have had this problem is when trying to use a youtube ripper site know as keepHD. Basically you put the link of a video you wish to rip and it will give you serveral links to choose from such as mp3, mp4 files:

But I get the error when I click download:

Im thinking this problem could be due to something to do with java, or even my internet options. Im trying new things to see if they work, but if any of you have any ideas I would love to hear them.

Your first problem is that "anxserver.net" seems to no longer exist. The domain seems to be registered, but perhaps the site was taken down? Anyway, that problem is not fixable from your end.

For the second site, it definitely could be a Java issue, but I am unable to use the site as it keeps trying to tell me Java is disabled. So I suggest you find another way to download Youtube videos (An extension on Firefox is definitely the easiest.)

Do you experience issues on other sites, or just these two?

I use the FireFox add-on Easy Youtube Video Downloader 5.9 for Youtube. When that doesn't work, whihc is for file format saving that only the paid version of the add-on provides, I use jDownloader. That firefox add-on put a link by the share button on Youtube that allows you to download. I always just use the least resoltion MP$ even for music, since MP3 is only supported with the paid version, it seems.

To me, it sounds like an Internet Option, since you are using Internet Explorer. Your first step would actually be to try using another browser.

Tried all that, but thanks anyway.

I am starting to think it is a problem on their end, and yes it is only thoes two site, any other site works fine.

jDownloader works fine for grabbing Youtube videos and it's the usual recommended internet download manager as is anyhow. =P

Though as for FireFox addons, I find this one works best: http://mp4downloader.mozdev.org/drupal/

Ive started using Jdownloader for most of my youtube downloading now. It works great.
