A bunch of videos about my new gaming rig

These videos were recorded the evening of Tuesday 14th and Wednesday morning, the 15th. However, after I recorded the last video, I plugged in the computer and attempted to power it up, only to fail. I decided to leave it in the computer repair shop, and I won't hear anything until Monday.

dude, your cablemanagement realy sucks XD cleanup that mess

i got the same shity case... the bottom of my pc is messy too, but above my gtx580 everythink is clear, no cables in sight. i also put these annoyeing ... locks? at the opticaldriveslot off. you should do it to, they are so useless.

i also think the standardfans suck, i replaced them all with some enermax tb apollish blue ones with 2 scyte kaze fancontolers. the only good think about this case are these dustfilters. they are so easy to clean, love them. the other parts you took are good...

btw,how much did you paid for that rig?

i payed like 3200€ and im still not satisfied. XD sadly my rig nowdays is just used to run jdownloader 24/7.

If you watch the last video, you'll see I did clean up the mess as best I could. The power cables coming from the power supply aren't long enough for me to tuck them behind the case. Anyway, with the side panel on, I can barely see the mess that I did leave.

Well it sucks that you couldn't get it to working yourself. Curious to hear what the issue might have been. Looks nice though, but yeah the cables look messy (but then even pre-built ones often are about the same). I'd certainly want to break those latches off the front if it was me, lol... :/

I've done a rough calculation of how much I spent on the system. Just by going by the core components I list in my signature (apart from the sound card and two of the internal hard drives, they're reused from my old computer), I spent about €1950/US$2,569.62. This doesn't include miscellaneous costs such as cable ties, the adaptor for the front USB 3.0 device, etc.

This is compared to €2558, which is the charge for a similar built system from custompc.ie (which is where I first heard about the Antec DF-85 chassis). That €2558 cost however doesn't include the cost for an SSD (custompc.ie don't list SSD as an option when selecting what size hard drive you want) and the cost is a bit skewed, because they don't have the option for GTX 560 TI graphics cards, just GTX 560 (no Ti) (and the charge goes up for the second card).

^Oh wow jeez that's a lot of money, at the time when I built my computer it cost me about $2000 AUD. Now with all the extra stuff I putted in, it's about $2500, but still that's expensive... I thought now you could build a decent gaming PC for about $1500 USD. Guess not. =(

Your AU$2500 = ~€2000, so more or less the same price. Anyway, a decent gaming pc wouldn't have as many high quality components as what I put in. For example, a decent pc wouldn't have 3 separate hard drives + 1 SSD, or two graphics cards. If I had gone for decent, I would have gone for the cheaper Core i5 2500K, 2 x 4GB RAM and a GPU in the €350-400 range (instead of what it cost for the two, €488), plus just one of the used hard drives.

Lol yeah I see what you mean, but I went budget stuff at the time lols. The mobo and CPU cost me near half of my budget. So anyways how's that computer of your coming along? Got it back from the computer shop yet?

No. As of the time of writing, its 11:03am in Dublin, Ireland. I went to the repair shop about an hour ago, told me the rig was still in pieces and that the engineer had gone on a call-out. He said that I would have to wait until this afternoon, and that he didn't have any information on what was the problem. I'll let you guys know the instant I get it back.

Alright cool, and why did they needed to take it all apart? LOL I think they are just BSing you and saying they did all these stuff and they didn't do nothing.

The first thing you do with a new build, if it doesn't respond, is take it apart and try to turn it on with as few components as possible, to try and isolate the problem. I actually should have done this myself, but I panicked last week and just brought it to the shop.
