Western Shows to Anime

I've been wondering about this for a while now. We all know how bad some US adaptations of anime can be, see Dragonball Evolution, but what about vice versa? So far, I must admit, the adaptations of the likes of Supernatural and X men have been pretty poor. But I do think that the anime industry can successfully adapt both western TV and movies. I mean, look at Harry Potter. An anime adaptation could be potentially amazing. Also, imagine something like Star Wars? Transformers? I believe shows like these could be brilliant when turned into a mecha anime. Heck, even something stupid like the X Factor could be developed into a coherent and well structured series, maybe something where you could follow a performer's journey, would certainly be interesting.

How about you guys? Leave your thoughts!

I think westen literature is a prospective goldmine for any anime studios willing to think outside the box.

I think the Mortal Engines series of books by Philip Reeve would make a stunning animated series. I think the west needs to see the true potential of anime. After all, I have seen some excellent books turned to shit by live-action adaptations. With those budgets, they could make a higher standard anime (don't take my word on it though).

Also, reality does not apply in anime, making it ideal for the fantasy/sci-fi genre.

Transformers already has a ton of anime entries: http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?q=transformers

I don't know if they're any good or not as I don't have any interest in watching them tbh.

Supernatural's anime sucked. Wolverine was actually good somewhat.

Iron Man was kind of crappy but then I'm not a big fan of Iron Man to begin with.

I still haven't seen the Blade or X-MEN anime yet to comment on them but I've read many reviews stating they completely changed and royally screwed up Storm's personality and character.

I could be interested in some of those potentials, but honestly I doubt they'd be much good, especially if it's Madhouse who ends up in charge of them. They seem to keep doing really episodic type episodes which don't really feel like anime besides the darker themes.
