Ryoku
Simple, get a USB cable, connect your External HDD to the port on your PS3. That's it.
Koby
Simple, get a USB cable, connect your External HDD to the port on your PS3. That's it.I don't think it's that simple. I tried once and the PS3 never recognized the external HHD. I'm not sure you can use them on it. However the flash keys work fine.
DrumRoll
no it doesn't work; not on the 360 either:(Big HDD instal software when you plug them in (or something like that) but they cannot do that on a games console.I wish it did though:)
vinny402
Hmmmm, It worked for me. Does it even appear on the PS3 menu anywhere? All I did was plug it in, go under videos to the External HDD, and then triangle show all and click on video files
rpm23
The external hard drive MUST be formatted in FAT32 for the PS3 to recognize it, and most externals come pre-formatted in NTFS (Windows) or HFS+ (Mac)If your on windows download a partition manager program to reformat it, or if your on a mac the built in Disk Utility program has the option for FAT32
wolfmother
Yeah it must be in fat 32. Then click triangle to access info and " show all ". I am watching naruto on a 3tb now XD
