theredfulcrum92
elfen lied is up there of course, blood reign curse and ninja scroll are often forgotten as they are slightly older but still really good

dragonspalm
Gantz, Ninja Scroll had a few moments, and i remember the first violent anime i ever saw was the original Guyver back in 1994 i think could be wrong about the year though. Blackbird
Higurashi, mostly because you really care about the characters you know are going to get mangled in horrible ways. It's one thing when some unknown guard gets cuisinarted by Lucy, but it's an entirely different level of violence when you add betrayal between two characters you care about. For me Rika driving that butcher knife into the side of her own head was easily the most disturbing bit of violence I have ever seen in an anime. Alegend1994
Well I wouldn't say it was the most violent but it was definitely the most disturbing scene I have ever seen School days ending. For those of you who have seen this you know what I mean. Kyle_Dimetri
4 me its a tie between elfen lied and hellsing ultimate. SICK!!!!
comp
I think Hellsing wins this by a landslide. When he gets goin brutal is the only way to describe him.
DemonicWolf
Out of what I've seen so far, I'd say the first episode of Elfen Lied.Although Rip's death in Hellsing was pretty brutal.

ghostwriter066
Excluding Hentai of course, I would have to say the last 10 min or so of the last episode of School Days.

ShadowDragon
Elfied Lied is still on the top of the list with this, mostly because of the bubbly anime character style. Akira would probably come next. Where I love Elfied Lied, I really can't stand Akira.
