mando_22
If your using Firefox install flashgot and download them all addons; when you go to youtube (or almost any site with a streaming video) there will be an Icon or right click menu you can use to download them. This actually works incredibly well I use it alot and its always works on youtube. If you have any questions let me know. Koby
On FireFox Addons search for Youtube MP4 Downloader. It works great to download Youtube videos in h264 MP4 format and even up to 1080p resolution if the video has it and you want it.
† L4ugh
Another firefox plugin you could try is Easy YouTube Video Downloader. It will put links on the YouTube page itself that allows you to dl the video as flv, mp4, etc.I haven't tried it yet but JDownloader might also download videos from YouTube. If you're just wanting the music in the vids you can try fre:ac it has a video tab that will allow you to dl videos from YouTube. It will then load them into it's joblist so you can rip out the audio file.
DuLake
I'm pretty sure I've tried all three of those at different times, and they all behaved weird at times or just stopped working (could just be my computer though). The programs I've always found to work best (and it's not a Firefox plugin if you use IE or something) is the line from dvdvideosoft.com. There whole line is free with no watermark or anything and they update pretty regularly along with youtube (and quickly too). It's also nice because they have a video downloader and a youtube to MP3 downloader that extracts the MP3 for you without having to mess with any heavier programs. I've always found them to be quite useful.

seirachan
I use http://keepvid.com/ put in the video link, allow it to run, right click on the link of the quality you want (mp4 and stuff like that doesn't work to well) click save link as, name it what you want. it will save as .flv and convert if needed into a file type you want. hAbUrA
Well if using Firefox than the best add-on as L4ugh already sad is Easy YouTube Downloader. It's so easy, when you instal it,you just have to play any video on youtube, and under the video next to the Like,Add to and Share buttons you have another button witch says Dowload, click on it and it expands and you choose the quality and it begins the download,so easy!If using some other browser i recomand Orbit Downloader,it's a Download manager, instal it,play any video on any site, then just move the mouse on to the playing video frame and a button apears, you click on it,it expands, you choose quality and it begins the download.Hope i helped with this. pradeepsixer
Thats much easier. Suppose this is the youtube video url : then just modify the link to look like below :http://saveyoutube.com/watch?v=xwBgAb7_FFUJust add 'save' before youtube. Thats all. A web page with different download options will appear

Anonymous
I use filewiggler for all my youtube videos.it even lets you choose what format you want the video to be in so I recommend this highly.http://filewiggler.com/
KairiKari
I use Any Video Converter. You can search for it on google and just look for the free download. However, don't download Pro. It only lets you download 3 minutes of vid before cutting it off.
Dreamscape
I can verify that JDownloader does download youtube videos, but you will get a few parts for each video. If you are looking to just download music from youtube, I use Freecorder, but it uses ALOT(!) of resources and memory so beware.
