Wow i didn't know there was more than one. I played it on psone and loved it. Where can i find 2 - 5?

The first and second ones were done on the original Playstation and areextremely expensive. Three, Four, and Five were all released on the PlayStation 2. There is also a Suikoden Tactics game for the PS2. Try checking eBay, Amazon, eBGames, or GameStop online.

Your best bet for 1-2 is emulators. Those games come with a hefty price tag of $200 ea. because there were limited prints. Actually, check the PSN Shop - there might be virtual copies of two. 3-5, you can find them in most Gamestops or video game trade shops. I see them all the time.

Surprisingly I realized that none of you guys mentioned Tierkris, that one was a good one too imho - other than being on the DS (C'mon now, all of its predecessors were released on sony products, so it should've been launched on PSP)

Suikoden 4, tactics and 5 happen to be my favorites! (well obviously since I only played those parts and couldn't find the earlier ones >.> )

But yeah I really loved the series, one of the best RPGs indeed.

*Hopes that may suikoden 6 arise in PS3, amen! =P*

$200 really?? Now that makes me wish i had held on to my copy of the game :beat_brick:

Thanks fellas i will be on the look out for them for sure.

Is the 108 stars of destiny a central theme, or was that just in the first game?

I have roms for 1 and 2. I own the PS2 games of 3 and 4. However I have only played 4 so far. I beat it. I just haven't gotten around to playing the third game yet, nor have I got around to buying the fifth. But yeah the 4th had the 108 stars of destiny as well. Which were people you could get to join your crew of ships.

Yup, my brother remembers when Suiko-1 was being sold in stores for $20 Lol! We always go up to this store in the mall and look at all their rare PS1 games priced at $200-250+. Lunar 1 & 2, Suikoden 1 & 2, Persona 1 & 2, Valkyrie Profile, Chrono Cross, original black label FF titles 7-9, etc; those are a few of the rare PS1 games off the top of my head that are worth a pretty penny.

And yes, the 108 Stars of Destiny has always played as a central theme to the Suikoden series. There are actually various characters that have re-occurrences in several of the games such as Luc and Yuber. The games are primarily based off of a chinese novel around the same concept of 108 heros banding together for a righteous cause.

(I.e. An example of how the 108 actually make or break the gameplay's value: In Suikoden 2, if you have all 108 - you'd be able to see the "Good Ending" if pay close attention to the very beginning of the game rather then the "Normal"or"Bad" endings. Without the 108, you couldn't get a chance to see the Good Ending - other than on Youtube).

That store is ripping people off if they are charging more than $20-$40 for these. FF8 and FF9 can be found easily brand new still for $10-$15. Chrono Cross is no more than $15-$20. FF7 however fluctuates a lot between $30 and $200 but it's currently down to around $35-$40 on most places I've looked.

Well it's not just the game but the box/coverart. I know a few people who are nuts and go on monthly searches looking for a specific box cover. That's why I made sure to mention "original black labels" on the side. That's really the only reason for their value, minus the game, their cover art. I know FFVII fluctuates from time to time but if you had to pick between a "Greatest Hits" version or a regular old black label, you'd probably get the black label because it was an original print - not a reprint ala "Greatest Hits" version.

Not that it really makes a whole lot of a difference - but there are people out there in the world that'd pay an arm and a leg, even sell their children into slavery, for "originals".

Now other than my argument about the store selling originals, the store also deals in card trading and older console games. So of course they'll charge quite a bit higher than normal. I usually go in there to window shop at games from the NES, SNES, Dreamcast, Xbox, GB/GBC/GBA and look at some of their random anime boxsets. It's like an antique store, almost, that deals in coveted/sucessful video games.

Reminds me of this one time I tried to haggle a dude at the flea market for a Secret of Mana cartridge. He told me "No Lower than $50, If you know how much its worth then there's no use talking me down."

I have played about half of the first game on an Emulator, but I plan to get it on PSN and start over soon. Suikoden II I don't think is on the North American PSN, at least. I have played on won Suikoden 4. I played and won Suikoden Tierkreis for the DS, but on an emulator. I plan to buy it when I find a cheap copy at my local game shop (not Gamestop, since they are usually more expensive). I have also played Suikoden Tactics, but haven't gotten far. I still need to find and get Suikoden 3 and 5.

For those that found those rare game for around $200 that is definitely a ripoff. I found Lunar 2 in my local gameshop for $70 with a square box. Crono Cross for $15 used and $18 new. A lot of other PSX games they have done have price tags on them and I haven't asked for their prices. They may have them on the side or bottom, but they are locked up in a glass case. They even had Tales of Destiny and Tales of Eternia. This shop also has some old machines like the Dragon one (forgot its name), Atari, Dreamcast, Saturn, NES, SNES, the 3-in-1 NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. They even have imports of games and some imported anime.

I was pricing the original black label versions.

Yea i stop looking for 1 & 2 ever since i bought myself a PSP, But i never knew there was a Suikoden tactics. Ive play 3,4,5 but haven't got the chance to play 1&2. Suikoden 3 it my fav so far.

Don't see the reason why to waste money on games that cost 200$, i'm a fan but im not stupid.

I rarely see black label versions outside of collector-type shops up here so it might just be me. I doubt they intend on selling them anyways since they're like must haves for any collector that prides themselves upon amazing games.
