RikuoAmero
Okay, why is it that just because I'm copying over a 93 gig folder from one hard drive to another that my computer decides to now work incredibly slowly? I'm trying to play Lost Vikings 2, an ancient game, and there's pauses! Note my setup in the signature, so this shouldn't be happening. Renzourin
what kind of HD are you moving it to and what are the speeds that may play a factor are you running it off a CD too? if you are then chances are your two HD's are taking priority over your CDROM and tus its not getting the resources it needs from the CPU and that could be why your pausing
† ballard
Data transfer slows your computer down because the hard drive has to copy the files that you are transferring over plus read what you are doing... so in your case it has to copy and read the game data at the same time. The read/write head on the HDD can only do so many things at once . If you take a break from the game and just let it finish copying the files over it would make the whole process a lot faster. seirachan
It always really slow trying to transfer from hard drive to hard drive. I like to do such things over night or when I go out. It's bad to run anything while transferring. It takes up a lot of power.and yes it should be happening like any other computer in the world
