Metal Gear Solid

I didn't find a topic of MGS, so close if this is a replica. Anyways...

Metal Gear Solid - Epic

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (remake) - Epic

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - Pretty Epic

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Epicly Amazon-ing

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patiots - Looks Orgasmically Epicly incredibly valid.

Basically feelings copied from Fated Children. Only Metal Gear's I didn't add were the PSP ones and the general 'Metal gear' series, before Solid took place. My favorite Metal Gear would have to be Metal gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Naked Snake was badass. The ending was dramatic, one of the bests. And the gameplay was enjoyable.

Also, to help my favorite aritst... go buy the Graphic Novel, art done by Ashley Wood :monster:who is a legend.

Only MGS game I didn't like was Son's of Liberty, something about it just didn't feel like a MGS game to me, and no, thats not because you play as Raiden!

other than that, they've all been good, especially Guns of the Patriots, it really payed out well considering it took what had originally been a 1 man sneaking mission game into the border-line realms of Call of Duty and Medal of Honor!

I do consider the plot very interesting, but when it comes to playing it and actually having fun - i'm useless. I got the pc version of Sons of Liberty, played a day... and haven't touched it since then, to be honest. I just found a movie edited from game's cut-scenes and watched it. Very good, very nice "filming", but i'm gonna let the pros do the stealth-playing.

do you still have the links? i found the game a bit too "slow" myself. still, it MUST be interesting to have spawn this many sequels.

the only one i played was PEACE WALKER for the PSP, and i finished 70% of it before quitting.

also, i'm a bit ashamed to admit it, but i got stuck at a cut-scene. you have to mash a button really quickly and i just couldn't get past it.

I still remember playing the first one when it came out, it was the most innovative game i had ever seen, the first time the guard spotted my footprints in the snow beyond epic! But as they all go MGS3 Snake Eater I have bought 4 different times( regular and Subsistence)

and even now I could still play it from beginning to end and still not want it to end.

I think MGS 1 is the best of the series it has the best story the best characters and it is the most atmospheric,

MGS 2 while at the time i liked it, it is just a copy of MGS 1 but the story is hundreds of times more confusing, the characters are not as interesting and you don't get to play as snake for very long, in fact the only purpose it has is to set up MGS 4.

MGS 3 Quite a good game get to play as snake again (sort of) quite atmospheric, new gamplay introduced to keep it interesting, better characters than its predecessor.

MGS 4 Very good game beautiful graphics great game play brings all the best surviving characters from the previous games and wraps it up nicely. Oh and you get to pilot Rex which is ace.

Peace Walker I'm still playing so no comment yet.

I myself have only played the first MGS on the Playstation and MGS2 so I can't comment on the more recent ones, I thoroughly enjoyed the original MGS, much more so than its direct sequel, it was just so amazing.

I was planning on getting Snake Eater for the 3DS, I've to consider if this portable remake would be a better choice than the PS2 version.

I don't know about the 3ds version and how good the "3d" is but i will say when your wandering around the jungle in MGS 3 it can be tricky to spot the enemy at times even on the HD collection so i don't know if a small screen will make it even harder. I will recommend the subsistence version over the original snake eater version mainly for the rotatable camera makes it a lot easier. If you have a 360 or PS3 i would recommend The HD collection because not only does it have MGS 2 Substance, MGS 3 Subsistence and MGS Peace Walker, it has the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake aswell.
