Ace Posted May 13, 2011 Report Share Posted May 13, 2011 Okay, let's go over the "history" of the Gears.Luffy came up with the idea after watching the Sea Train and tried mimicing it in his battle against Blueno, thus generating steam.This increased his speed and strength greatly so he could be on par with CP9 and their "Rokushiki".Gear Second increased his speed/strength while Gear Third increased his size.
