England thrash Australia!

This from a Brisbane news website.

'England cruise to innings win in second Test'

'ENGLAND took a giant step towards retaining the Ashes when they ripped through Australia's brittle batting to win the second Test in Adelaide today. '

This from Ricky Ponting, Australia legend and captain:

"We got off to a shambolic start ... and it was always going to be hard to fight back from there," he said.

"We needed to make a big score in the first innings and 245 was never going to be enough. We also put down a few crucial catches in the field. It's just those little things which are literally slipping through our hands at the moment, you can't give good players second and third chances.

"We've got to go away and do some soul-searching. England have kept us under real pressure, and we've got to find a way to cope with that."

Poor Aussies :D

Mighty England!

Australia on the verge of their most humiliating defeat..... EVER!

this from 'the West Australian'

'The West Australian concedes that "Australia are all but out of contention to regain the Ashes after England established a commanding 346-run lead at stumps." '

'The Herad Sun'

England have Australia "primed for execution"

Australia hit rock bottom on the first day of the fourth Test, dismissed for less than 100 runs in less than 43 overs to virtually gift England the Ashes urn.

The Australian

England, with their devastating use of the ball and measured use of the bat, ended any hopes of the Ashes returning to Australia.

The Mercury

Australia's hopes of regaining the Ashes are in tatters after the first day at the MCG.

Need I go on? :D
