'Boku no Hero Academia' Anime Series Gets Another Movie

The AnimeJapan 2019 stage event for the Boku no Hero Academia franchise announced another movie to premiere this winter. Mangaka Kouhei Horikoshi will be supervising and drawing the original character designs for the movie, which will feature a new story.

Boku no Hero Academia has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine since July 2014. The series currently has 22 compiled volumes in print, with the latest published February 4. The manga has received three anime seasons by studio Bones, which aired in Spring 2016, Spring 2017, and Spring 2018 for 12 episodes, 25 episodes, and 25 episodes, respectively. Two OVA episodes were bundled with the 13th and 14th compiled manga volumes in April and June last year. A fourth season is slated for this fall. Boku no Hero Academia the Movie: Futari no Hero premiered last August. All Might Rising Volume Origin manga also received an anime adaptation on February 13, which was bundled in the Blu-ray and DVD release of Boku no Hero Academia the Movie: Futari no Hero.
