Robotech/Macross viewing order

What is the exact viewing order of the Robotech/Macross complete series, including movies and the versions that are not part of the canon.

 

I've heard many different iterations over the years and was hoping the Kametsu community had a definitive answer.

Robotech and Macross are essentially 2 different things. It would be best to either watch both (which will have some repetition) or only watch 1. If you prefer dubs, it would be best to just watch Robotech, otherwise, the listing made above is a good watching order for the sub, since not all of them have been dubbed or included in the rebranded Rocbotech, which is an alternate retelling of 3 different shows.

So Robotech is a Macross retooled stand alone version with dub, correct?

 

And the above list is the original version?

Yes, Carl Macek created Robotech from 3 different Japanese series.  Personally, I liked the idea, but you'll notice during the Southern Calvary Saga and Invid Saga (Parts 2 and 3) it doesn't always match up with the Macross Saga (Part 1).
