Itunes Transfer Quality Questionable

Some Older Shows and movies from itunes can look god awful, it doesnt seem to be everything but older cartoons suffer badly at times. I wonder if the masters are just that bad or if itunes has a strange sharpening filter thats ruining older content

 

For Example : Scooby Doo in Arabian Knights (Heavy Interlacing Artifacts throughout the movie)

I've noticed it in full series too for example fosters home for imaginary friends

 

Have ye seen any itunes files of poor quality?

Pretty much most of their older SD content looks like shit. Even their newer HD stuff has it's own set of issues... but that's because they don't know the first thing about encoding and they don't even attempt to fix issues. Old DVD sourced stuff are interlaced and iTunes doesn't deinterlace properly. They encode to specific sizes and that's all they care about.

It's amazing people pay good money on iTunes for these, I think the above movie is $9.99

Yeah, that's one thing, but on the other side of the fence, ongoing TV Shows in 1080p look way better than a 720p TVrip. So iTunes has it's uses one way or another.

Jackie Chan Adventures dvd or web-dl looks like this >.< its sad to see some shows treated so poorly

It is worse however when its source related as even deinterlacing doesnt work all the time
