It's a JRPG (japanese role playing game). So it's an anime-like game.

There are also 2 anime Final Fantasy movies (that I know of. One independent and one a sequal to the FF7 game) and an anime series: Final Fantasy Unlimited. (and if you're picky, you can consider final fantasy 10 as an anime because for every 5 seconds of gameplay there is 5 minutes of scenes, which is quite irritating)

The anime is okay, but most of its value comes from its similarity to the games, so non-players might not like it.

Final Fantasy is playstation. And playstations are like 5-7x cheaper than computers with the same capabilities. If you try to build a computer capable of playstation-level gameplay, each part will cost at least as much as a whole ps3. (well, that's at least true in 3rd world countries. Does India fall into that category?)

Yeah. It's got it's own browser. But of course, it's not as efficient as a computer's and can never replace one. Eg, no keyboard (well, you CAN buy one for it. And i don't know what happens if you plug an ordinary keyboard into its USB slots). But the controller does a good job of navigating web sites.

You can connect to the net via ethernet cable or wireless.

No bother :)

Yeah, they come in differing sizes. I have the 250gig model ps3. Nowadays most in stores are 500GB or 12GB. They are built-in, but you can easily replace them as they are accessible from outside.

If you're planning on watching anime on it, beware that they can't play mkv. You'll need to change them to mp4 or avi first.

Yeah, definately! (yes, ps4 is the new one coming in a few months)
But I wont buy one immediately. New consoles tend to have a high break-in-the-first-year-after-release probability (eg, the PS3 had a 10% breakrate and the xbox360 50%). And as time moves on, the tech in them gets better AND the price drops severely.

Playstation 2 now costs less than a third what it did when it came out, Playstation 3 a half. And both of these are much more reliable and have better hardware and software than their originals (except that original ps3's could play ps2 games and the new ones can't)

Haha, you can probly tell I love talking about playstations :) Hope I'm not boring you

They split Hobbit into 3 parts. Part 1 was last year (brilliant movie), part 2 comes out later this year.

I can't afford to download movies. At $2 per gig for internet, movie downloads aren't worth it. I can barely afford anime. thats $2 per 3-10 episodes depending on quality. But since South Africa doesn't have anime instores or on TV, I have to. Movies are fine on TV. And I record the good ones with my laptop's TV card anyways.

Story of how I got addicted to anime: We import England's Cartoon Network(CN). Many many years ago, their CN had dragonball z on, but whenever it aired, they cut it from the South African TVs and replaced it with some other cartoon. But one fateful day there was a dragonball z marathon and they forgot to cut that. Bin hooked on anime ever since. :P

I've never seen fate/stay night. Got some of its sequals, but haven't watched them.

You're lucky. We had animax for about a year then they cancelled it for no good reason. Best year of my life (if you ignore dating-related details).
I loved the channel because of its schedule. It was perfect. I could never have improved on it (and I like critisizing things and saying how I woulda done it better. There are very few things I can't improve on. Animax was one of them).
