BANNER OF THE MONTH: March

 

RULES:

• All entries are to be submitted by March 24th.
  
• Voting will take place between March 25th and March 31st.
  
• There is no theme this month: anything goes!
  
• Only one entry per participant. However, you may edit your entry until the deadline.
  
• Banners must be your own work.
  
• Entries can be in GIF, JPG, JPEG or PNG format, and should be 860 (or more) x160 pixels, with transparency on the right side. Animated banners are allowed.
  
• Pre-made banners are allowed, as long as they have not been used in a past Kametsu competition.
  
• Please read all Graphical Division Rules and Forum Rules before entering. All rules apply.

There is no transparency on this.  Your mistake was that you saved as ".jpg" instead of ".png".   You need to save as a .png in order to keep transparency.

  That way it will come out like this...

For my banner i use a layer mask with a gradient. some people use the eraser tool to get the same effect.

As I posted in the last BOTM thread:

This should help if you're using Photoshop:

• Merge all of your layers by right-clicking the bottom layer and selecting 'flatten image'
• Add a layer mask (the icon is on the bottom of the layers window and looks like a circle inside of a rectangle)
• Use the gradient tool, with colors white to black, and make a gradient left to right where you want the transparency
