Daviddaman91
Okay I have made a couple sigs just to see what I can do. God I could really use some pointers. So please let the criticism come in. Also if you like something about it please tell me so I know what I am doing right as well.
Koby
Well you should work on blending technique's. That would be best. Also you should consider the stock, and decide what kind of background to use. The background used for the C.C sig doesn't flow with the stock. Lighting is also an important factor and probably one of the more difficult to work with. Take the lighting of the stock into effect when doing the background. Such as if the stock image the lighting appears to be coming from the right side, then it should be doing the same for the background. That way it seems like the character is actually apart of what you designed rather then just slapped on top last minute and just there.
Daviddaman91
Hmm good observations. Yeah I was using GIMP for the C.C. one. Can't stand gimp really. But someone was nice enough to get me PS and I used that to make the Gilgamesh one. I have always had a difficult time with lighting. I will work on that for sure. Also what of the pencil tool? I hear it is one of the most complicated tools to use (or is that the pen tool xD). Thanks again for the pointers. I really want to get good at doing these things. Screaming Spoon
these aren't bad really. they're very old styles though, but i miss that. ^^ i think the second tag would look better if it was in a higher quality. i really never got the hang of brushes, but you seem to be doing pretty good with them. Use different colors and different text. most people say never use text, but you should experiment with text placement and different font style every chance you get. But your so awesome at GFX! Then again.. most of yours seem to always be textures... I've never been that good with textures. I'd love to be able to do what you do. xD Almost all of my work revolves around brushes, filters, and blending.
Screaming Spoon
i never liked using brushes except for the default circle brush rofl**yeah it's pretty much just textures ^^Oh btw Daviddaman91, learn how to use selective coloring. It makes it easier then using color layers imo. It should be under image - adjustments - selective coloring, in cs3 anyways. ^^
