Hopefully, you can be happy now @CardGames. Technically, it's not actually Final Fantasy Versus XIII they announced but this is the same thing, right?

Enjoy.

I'll be adding some more stuff tomorrow, or maybe later today. Mostly Nintendo's stuff. I've been doing this for over three hours now though, so I'll be taking a break.

I've added all the videos for Nintendo's Direct video. For those that don't know this includes the following games:

  • A World Of Keflings (eShop Releases)
  • Ballpoint Universe (eShop Releases)
  • Cloudberry Kingdom (eShop Releases)
  • Coaster Crazy Deluxe (eShop Releases)
  • Disney Infinity
  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
  • DuckTales: Remastered (eShop Releases)
  • Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles Of Mystara (eShop Releases)
  • Mario Kart 8
  • Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
  • Monolith Soft New IP (Untitled)
  • Mutant Mudds Deluxe (eShop Releases)
  • New Super Luigi U
  • Pikmin 3
  • Pokemon X/Y
  • Scram Kitty And His Buddy On Rails (eShop Releases)
  • Shin Megami Tensei IV
  • Shovel Knight (eShop Releases)
  • Spin The Bottle: Bumpie's Party (eShop Releases)
  • Super Mario 3D World
  • Super Smash Bros.
  • The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
  • The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
  • The Wonderful 101
  • Yoshi's New Island

So that's that for all the big players. I've not put all the videos up yet - but does anyone really care about a trailer for Wii U Party?. There'll probably be some more stuff to add once all the journalists have walked round a bit and found all the hidden games. By that I mean ones who can't afford a big announcement or their publisher didn't bother including them in theirs.

If you've found a game I've missed, either post the title/or the video itself and I'll see about adding something to the first post. There's only so much one man can do after all. I'm not part of a team at the actual event.

Until next time then.

Well you have a while to save up. Plus, they've not confirmed it as a launch title. So you have plenty of time to save up. I'm fortunate to have a good job so the money doesn't really bother me (I could afford 2.5/3 PS4s with my average monthly wage).

The point I'm trying to make is you have at least four months so save up. If you can save $100/month that's the console sorted. Considering it doesn't specify a release date, I don't expect it be in the launch window for the console, as that would give a boost to the console in Japan. That gives you another two or three months at least so about $55-$65/month is probably what you'll need to save. Plus you'll have Christmas and a birthday if you haven't had one yet. You could ask for money towards a PS4 fund for them.

Think about it though. The game you most wanted to see announced was announced. Whether you can afford to buy the console and/or game on day one isn't the issue really. You'll get to play it eventually.

Live in hope, my friend.

I've noticed a lot of threads popping up over recent hours bemoaning Xbox One and a load of other stuff so I thought I'd share with you the facts

The Xbox One does not charge for pre-owned games. Where the confusion on this comes from is Microsoft have said there is the option for developers/publishers to opt-in to a service where a fee is charged, similar to the online passes. Remember, not everyone used online passes. This system is the same.

Publishers can decide whether or not they want to charge for the use of a second hand game, it's not a blanket thing. For instance, Microsoft have said they won't be charging for any first party games they publish, so you can trade them in as you would now.

It's basically the same as this generations region locking system. It was left up to publishers in most cases whether they wanted to region lock their titles. If you buy an Xbox One, there will be some games you will be able to trade in as normal, just not all of them anymore. No more doom and gloom on that I hope.

Secondly, I've seen people asking the question of whether they still keep the game if it's licensed on another console. The answer to that would be no, in the same way you don't trade in a game and still own it. The confusion for this seems to be around Microsoft's policy on playing a game at a friends house. If you wanted to do such a thing, you wouldn't need to license the game on their machine, you would just need to sign in to your Gamertag on their machine and you'll be able to use the game as normal.

Lastly, for those of you Sony fanboys lording all this stuff over your Microsoft loving friends. It's not all sunshine and roses for you either. What many people failed to listen to or notice from Sony's conference was the announcement that from PS4 onwards you will need to have Playstaion Plus account to play any online games. That's right, they will not be providing online multiplayer free of charge any more, you have to have a Playstation Plus subscription. This will, however, work for PS3, PS4 and PSV so you won't need multiple accounts.

If you have any other questions/worries/concerns etc about the next gen, I'd love to clear them up for you, rather than the posting of (somewhat) pointless threads. I made this thread so all the discussion would take place in here afterall, rather than cluttering up the gaming forum

If there's a will there's a way and all that jazz.

I hate to hear another RPG fan in pain (although your profile picture of Vanille is questionable :)) so I'm here for you any time you need to vent.

A little late, but I watched the Nintendo Direct yesterday.

Like the Microsoft and Sony conference, this was pretty much all games.  Almost every game that was talked about was already known from some other Nintendo Direct.  I wasn't expecting the next 3D Mario game to be like Super Mario 3D Land.  I think that style of gaming should stay with the 3DS.  It's kind of weird saying this, but I'm more excited about Sonic (Lost World) than I am Mario.  Mario Kart 8 looked beautiful and was a breath of fresh air from the endless racing simulator games shown at other consoles.  Bayonetta 2 was sexy (still need dat first one on Wii U too).  So the "secret" Retro game ended up being a sequel to DKCR.  I was disappointed because I was hoping for F-Zero or something.  Can't wait to get my hands on Wind Waker and Pokemon. They didn't show it during the Direct, but A Link Between Worlds is the name for the 3DS Zelda game.  Lastly... SMAAAAASH!  Went crazy when I saw Animal Crossing at the beginning.  Then went crazy when Villager was confirmed as a playable character.  Never got into Mega Man so I didn't go wild over that, but I do appreciate it since he is an ideal candidate for the game.  And lol Wii Fit Trainer.

That sounds good, I like to hear what is fact and not just some out blown rumour. Things seem to be getting brighter for the xbox, I will be getting one. I just need to get some money first :P

Also I am pretty hyped over Killer Instinct I orignally played this game on Nintendo 64 so to see it brought out to Xbox-1 and all new stunning graphics is awesome!!!

Yeah, there just seemed to be a lot of people of late thinking it's a blanket policy. All Microsoft have really done is put a facility into their console that some publishers - the larger ones I'd imagine (Activision, EA in particular) - will take advantage of. These were the companies that were using an Online Pass system in the first place so nothing has really changed.

Just my take, feel free to vent at some sensationalist journalism as much as you want, fellow forum users.

Actually, forget all of what I just said above. Have you guys read this crap

http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/13/xbox-one-will-only-work-in-21-countries-at-launch-3839195/

I thought Microsoft couldn't get any stupider.

Obviously, it won't affect the majority of us but it's still ridiculous.

I had a feeling something like that would happen. Oh well I don't know if what Microsoft is doing is right or wrong, but to try and do something different that really hasn't been done before is going to ruffle a few feathers. At this time there is nothing about the xbox-1 that really affects me, I live in a X-box live supported country so it will work for me on release day, I have constant access to the internet so it should work all the time.

My only concern is the kinect being on all the time, I dislike that.

Yeah, I feel the same to a degree. My repulsion is one based on business sense to be honest, it seems like whoever designed this was crazy. First off, let's make a console with features that a lot of our customers won't like, that should reduce the number or people that want our console. Oh, and while we're at it, let's only allow certain countries to use the console when we first launch it, so even those people who do still want to buy one can't because of the place they were born/live in.

At what boardroom meeting did every one applaud and think this made sense?

Like you there's nothing really that stops me from buying one - other than preference - I just don't get how a company can be this stupid.

Actually it's Serah Farron from XIII-2.

But your point is still valid.

Lol, yeah. I suppose that shows how little attention I've paid to the Fabula Nova Crystallis series. I'll still buy Lightning returns though, is that sad?

And this comes from a man whose game series is inspired by the likes of Final Fantasy, DragonQuest, Phantasy Star, Shining series, Tales Of..., The Elder Scrolls, and more.

It's a sad day for a once mighty series. FYI, my favourite FF game is FF9.

If only we knew what went on in the minds of microsoft but we can't so we can only assume they have some things still up their sleeves as if they don't they are in for a world of hurt. I have seen a lot of people swap to PS4 because of their actions and even have a hard core xbox mate who is choosing not to buy the Xbox-1 due to him not having internet.

Yeah, all they're going to do in the short term is hurt themselves. I guess they're hoping that the games will be enough for some people. I'm surprised by how many people have shrugged this whole thing off and said things like, "I can't play Halo on PS4". You can't love a series that much, right?

I'm a big fan of the DragonQuest series, if the next game that came out could only be played in my living room and nowhere else in the house, I wouldn't buy it. Silly, analogy I know, but you get the point.

Now, I'm not writing Microsoft off. As I've said, I'll be getting an Xbox One - just in two or three years time when they're half the price - It just seems like they thought they had a royal flush when they were actually holding a pair of threes.

Hmm, poker analogy. Don't even like poker, go me.

Back to E3 for the moment though. The show has now finished, but I still have some videos to put up. I'll get them up for you this afternoon (next three hours).

The reason I am still buying an xbox over PS is due to the fact that the controller feels better, I find the exclusives for xbox more to my taste in games and that I have never really been blown away by the play station. Sure the PS is a good console but not one that has made me go wow that is awesome.

Sure microsoft is making some bad choices and it will turn some off and it will keep some. Microsoft isn't going to loose 100% of their fan base sue to stupid choices they make, just maybe 25-40% of it.

I am a little sad to see E3 end. Sure I loved seeing Call of Duty: Ghost, Killer Instinct, Star Wars: Battlefront, Halo and Super Smash Bros Wii-U and 3DS, but I had hoped to see a few other games make appearances like this years DBZ game apparently there is a good one in the works.... as rumor has it lol.
