I've been playing D&D every Tuesday and this is my group, I took the picture so I'm not in it, also the cameo jacket girl is not playing. We are playing Pathfinder. I've been collecting all the books and learning the game. I told the GM he got my character wrong lol. But it was okay cause I didn't use any of the wrong spells. I learned fast to bring snacks. ALWAYS BRING SNACKS. Aw crap I got no money for next week.

But I'm a level 5 Paladin, not really my favored class tho. The GM wanted someone to be the tank so I just said sure I'll be it. Feeling pretty useless not having any spells or anything to scan the area. But at least I got detect evil. We might run into a humanoid I can cast that on.

Anyone else play D&D? Got any cool/funny stories?

One of these guys got bit by the ghoul in the shoulder so he sat there at the table and started screaming like his character would lol.

We've had it too many times where something is pretty much dead and we miss it EVERYTIME so the DM just says, "You know what this guy isn't going anywhere so just roll damage."

DND is great, especially if you have a good DM. Really a good storyteller can make it much more entertaining. Which set do you play? Personally I like 3.5, although 4 is a bit more balanced.

And paladins arent just tanks, they are also healers. If you spec it right, then you can actually do it better by dual wielding shields :P

And I normally DM since no-one in my group can come up with a good campaign. Funny stories, I once gave my players magical STD's after they raped a village. That taught them to actually pay attention to my campaign!!!!

I play w/e Pathfinder is. I have some books for 4 but everyone tells me it's not very good and took out a lot of fun stuff, it's also easier to learn but I'd rather play the other ones. I know Paladin's aren't just tanks in fact I've mostly healed this whole adventure. But I can take some hits. My DM so far wants us to do mostly battles and the story is kinda lame. Basically once every hundred years people volunteer to go into this dungeon and die. So far we've been raping everything and the DM keeps trying to think of harder stuff for us. Seems like hes making most of this place up as he goes along.

Chances are, he probably is just making it up. See, the key to being a good DM is the storytelling to keep it interesting and the ability to use weak creatures to make the situation tough. Like for instance, a monster that has range, and is above you on a ledge and with cover. You cant shoot him easily, but he can easily shoot you. So even a kobald can be a threat.

And I just looked, Pathfinder is a modified version of 3.5, so it looks awesome. I havent played

that specific set though.

Oh, and one thing that you might want to think of for fun. Take a level of Ranger, then you can heal, tank, and have an animal companion!

My first tabletop D&D experience didn't go so well. 4 others besides myself, I was the rogue, From the description of the room, I knew there had to be a trap. Found the secret door, but not the mechanism for the trap. Tried to warn everyone that it was a trap. Fighter opens the door as I run away. All of them die from a hail of crossbow bolts. I die a few minutes later from the pack of monsters we should have been fighting as a group. If they hadn't ignored me, we would have played much longer.

Next D&D experience was online with people from here. It was a lot of fun, but didn't last long.

After that, Mal and I have done a little bit of coop on a campaign based on a story I'm writing. Rather than things being predetermined, and thus seeming either too easy, or too hard for the party, everything worked out randomly. Except for a few things that I fit into it to help the story along.
