Unfortunately she won't be the main character. She looks really cool and strong, but I read somewhere that Nomura or someone confirmed she won't be acting as the main hero. I imagine she will be at the very least a party member (and a powerful one at that).

As for the translation you gave, it would seem this game will be a lot alike the other classic FF games, the ones that revolved around crystals that is. Not that that will be a bad thing. The game looks great and I'm sure it will be one of the best yet (next to Versus).
