Question about Episode 50.

The thing is, the way it works is if it's not in the original source, then it's classified as filler. Even if it was something intended to be in the original source but was cut. For example the Bleach filler arc in Hueco Mundo about Ashido Kano was supposedly intended to be in the manga but was cut as well yet the arc is still considered filler.

The thing about One Piece fillers, is even the worst of them just about feel like canon, unlike any other show, so it's extremely hard to differentiate unless you look it up or have read the manga. You can probably classify this episode as both canon and filler if you wanted to, but the general term would still be filler.

In one piece fillers are hard to differentiate unlike in other series like naruto or bleach

If I wanted to be mean, I would say it's obvious they are harder to differenciate in OP because canon episodes aren't that great compared to the epicness of some Naruto and Bleach episodes, so it's less difficult to make fillers look like canon...

But it's true that fillers in One Piece are less bad than the crappy Naruto ones and at best mediocre Bleach ones, even if I must say that the Warship Island arc didn't really impressed me, so I wasn't surprised to learn after watching it that it was a filler arc.
