Photograhy and the Internet

Due to Kupo harrassing me and her paranoia, we are going to start a photography thread. Do you think that putting up photos without watermarks is alright, since people may take them? Do you know people who have taken photos? Any storries or comments related to photos and theinternet belong here!

I actually know someone who posed as a girl from his school by taking some of her photos and using facebook. But it was just so he could frisk peoples facebook pictures...

There was a girl who had a massive crush on me whilst I was still in highschool and she hated me talking to anybody else other than her. She followed me everywhere wither I knew she was there or not. And she even hacked my MSN to ask other contacts what their relationship with me was. When I finally managed to get my MSN back, she targetted my bloody photos on Bebo and stole a few images to continue posing as me in order to prevent what she could. I lost a good few friends from the incident. I'm aware that wonderful photos of beautiful people are the ones mainly taken, but some are smart enough to think 'I need a more realistic one' and settle for crappy plain photos like mine. I put watermarks on my photos now and told my friends that were around because of the incident that if they need to contact me about something due to a poser, they know where they could then find me. It's not so much a... OMG A STRANGER TOOK IT. It's more of a... OMG ANOTHER PSYCHOPATH WITH NO LIFE.

I've taken photos to suit my various needs when it comes to trolling, but only after I ask the person who's in the picture [i usually let them in on it at that point and we go from there.]

Personally I think it's stupid to just throw up massive watermarks over everything, because if someone wants it, they're going to take it anyway and you can't stop them. Making them low quality and grainy on purpose is equally stupid because you end up looking like you have something you're trying to hide and that usually affects how people think about you, especially if you're trying hard to be well-received by everyone.

Low quality and grainy? What if they just suck at photography? D:

Well I know my ex goggled some girl to pose as her for his online boyfriend he was using for money and world of warcraft. He didn't even treat his fake ex boyfriend right, treated him like shit, both of them. One of them had a wife and the other was just a sad guy in high school. The one with the wife suddenly disappeared and he told the guy in high school he was a guy.

I thought this was hysterical.

As for taking them or knowing someone who has, I only know Dirk who has and I've only done the same as her.
