Mystro69
She's already a bad ass soul reaper without having to use a weapon, but the truth is that all soul reapers have a zanpakuto. Though in special cases the harmonized bond might become so strong that the soul reaper becomes one with his or hers zanpakuto. In Yourichi case shes reached that level and prefers to fight with her hands. Its evident she achieved bankai without having to use the sword form of her zanpakuto.Remember she was the head captain of the stealth force in squad 2. Isn't a Zanpakuto needed to purify hollows and to send wholes to soul society? So, it would stand to reason that at some point in time she had to have one. In my opinion this is just going to be another unanswered question to add to Bleach's never ending list of plot holes. funkymonkey515
From what I remember it was explained that one soul reaper fighting style is hand to hand combat (mixed with kido) so maybe that's just her fighting style.

Theoddone
As a former captain of the Gotei 13, it is known that Yoruichi possesses a Zanpakutō and has achieved Bankai, but she relies nearly exclusively on Hohō, Shunpō, and Shunkō. Although she doesn't carry it at all in the current time, she is shown wearing it in the past. It resembles a kodachi or wakizashi which she kept sheathed horizontally behind her on her lower back, similar to how Soifon carries hers in the present day. Trazor
She must have one. She just doesn't use it.Or maybe she does! We just don't know it yet.
juushiro2
I think her she preferes hand to hand combat and just chooses never to use a Zanpakuto.
Captain_Aizen13
My guess is, she has one but it isn't suited for battle. Perhaps it has some other purpose. I think she does have a Bankai because they already said Kenpachi is the only soul reaper to attain Captain status without a Bankai.
