Anieni
Hello, I am new to the forum and the main reason I joined is to find anime that is suitable for my 13 year old daughters to watch. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

VolvoKing
Daphne in the Brilliant BlueKino's JournyInuyashaEven though they're 13 you can let them watch 14+. Watch them with them like I do and if they have questions you can answer them. It's also a great way to spend time with the kids and they'll think you're cool for watching anime and who knows you might get in to it as well. CaNzCo
Hamtaro is the best, I love that hamster.Definitely this one. I have watched a little bit of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and as girly as the name sounds, the show will probably be just as much fun for you to watch as it is for them, If adorable animals fails to win them over, I suggest School Rumble. It is really funny, and is very watchable for older people. Nienna
I suggested Kyo Kara Maoh and Ouran. (the OP and I are friends) My Little Pony is harmless but I just couldn't get into it so I didn't think of that one, but yeah, they might like it. Sailor Moon is another one I never got into, but again completely age appropriate. If they haven't seen Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away they'd really enjoy those movies. Dan Den
How about the Dragon Ball series cause I started watching this when I was about 10 years old and my little sister was 8, am sure they will enjoy it cause if my lil sis could enjoy it why can't thirteen year old enjoy it. Catwoman
Dragon Ball is rather violent though or can contain what some parents would see as adult themes. I suggest watching a few episodes yourself to see if it is something you would want your children to view. I grew up with it from a very young age and loved it, my mother had no trouble with letting me view it. However, I know everyone is different. So yeah! Give it a try and see what you think. † RazorDan
My Little pony? I don't know about other people so I apologize, but at 13 I was watching stuff like Heroes, Gundam, Torchwood etc. But then again, I am a guy and I'm quite mature for my age. Nienna
There are some mature themes in Ouran but they're not gratuitous so I didn't really think about them. You do have to keep in mind that even the most innocent, straight laced 13 year olds still go to school with other 13 year olds and a lot of them can be trash mouths. Most anime contains either violence or sexual overtones or both. You kind of have to accept that going in. It's the stuff that would garner an R rating that really isn't appropriate for the 14 and under crowd.

Dae314
Out of the anime I've watched, the ones most appropriate for young teenage girls would be:Yumeiro PatissiereYakitate JapanHaruhi (maybe)K-ONClannad (maybe... this actually might be best around 16-18)My Little Pony: FiM (THERE! I SAID IT)
Nienna
I haven't seen Clannad-AS yet but season 1 was definitely age appropriate for 13-yr-olds. Once kids get into the double digits I think it's important to discuss with them that not everyone's home life is that great. ANd the characters are so endearing. MrMallard
Hmm... try Soul Eater. It can be a liiiiitle inappropriate (Blair), but overall it's a very nicely done anime.
