Ray Ray
I wanted to talk about this for a while because it has always bothered me, but a few days ago, it went into full force effect. As some of you may have heard a Wal Mart employee in Long Island, NY was crushed to death in a stampede of Black Friday shoppers. People just kept running him over and severely wounding him, just so they could get a discounted TV or DVD player. Seriously, how horrible?! How could people just do this to a man? And when people were asked to leave the store because an employee died, people were saying "we've been waiting in line since yesterday," and just kept shopping.I was wondering what your opinions on humans and society were and if we are progressing or degressing in the way we treat other people. Koby
I heard about that.. that was horrible. I didn't even go to any Black Friday sales. It's always horrible here and the cops are always up there watching.. because at Best Buy people start fighting like crazy after camping out all night at their front door.. WTF!I heard two people carrying guns shot each other at a Toys R Us somewhere on Black Friday.. but I dunno if it had anything to do with the actual day and the sales or not.People have become ignorant savages when it comes to saving a few bucks.. Personally I'd rather spend the extra $50 or whatever later than have to mess with all the crap going on during Black Friday. :/I feel the world is digressing in ways of interacting with others and caring for others. Most people I know only care about them and if it happens to someone else they could care less.
Ray Ray
Yeah my mother and my friend's mom went shopping on Black Friday 4 years ago. They waited at line at Wal Mart and when they announced they were opening the people in their cars rushed the people in the lines to get in first. I am so grateful that my mom and my friend's mom didn't get injured. They didn't run, they casually walked. I seriously think people need to go back to kindergarden and learn how to stand in a LINE.Also this year my mom ordered off line, they had the same sale prices haha.Yeah the Toys R' Us incident was apparently not related to Black Friday but a personal conflict. Oh and besides the man at Wal Mart, an 8 month pregnant employee jumped in the crowd to help them and she got sent to the hospital along with 3 other employees. Varies sources said she had a miscarriage and some say she had the baby.I also think the world is spiraling down. To think they'd kill a man over something that was like 25% off. It's just disgusting. I am trying to be a linguistic artist because I want to travel and make friends with people in other countries. I made so many friends when I went to Japan and I'd love to be able to go back soon, I taught myself some Hiragana. I just hope we can fix this mess before it gets too out of hand.I also have heard the most raciest jokes in my school (it's a Catholic School at that) and people don't know anything. I am trying to start a Culture class so maybe some people can learn the difference between Japan and China or the difference between Jamacia and Africa (yes people in my school are THAT ignorant)

O.oAh you have been to Japan? I've wanted to visit there, but didn't want to go by myself and don't know anyone who would go with me. Not to mention I haven't priced tickets, and I currently have no job which means limited money.. :/
Ray Ray
Yeah some sites say the woman is fine, others say she wasn't. I dunno haha. And I went with a group called People to People during the summer. It was a fantastic expierance and you must go one day. ^^I am actually going back probably after I graduate high school, I am a junior so that's not too far away. I made so many friends there and I had a host family who I miss to pieces. My trip was about $6,500 for plane tickets (from Ohio to Chicago to Tokyo, to 4 in country flight, to San Fransico (from Osaka), to Chicago, back to Ohio), my hotels, meals, etc. You only had to pay for extra food and gifts.I learned a lot while I was there. I also went to the Nagasaki Peace Park. It was a real eye opener. When I came back, people from my school were like "why would you go to Japan?"My sister's boyfriend said to me "you'll get kidnapped by Wal Mart".I was highly offended. magix1reaper
I'm sorry to bring this up after so long but, yeah.Ray, are you saying the people of your school were making this out to think that a connection existed because of the fact of a black community? Sorry if you don't like my opinions. I find human ignorance very amusing. Ignorance is bliss. The more you know, the more miserable you are.
