Because this is first and foremost a community forum and we would like people to actually stick around and contribute to discussions. If no one talks we'll die and shutdown regardless of how many people are coming for downloads. The 5 posts gets the ungrateful leechers to at least post some before they just vanish after grabbing what they want. It also helps weed out the bad spammers and such so we can ban them before they become a problem.

If people don't start posting more it's likely I'll raise the required amount of posts.
