Yeah link doesn't work so all I can go on is the processors. I think the one from Wal-mart might have a little more power, I'm not positive, but I've always disliked Intel, so I'd probably go with the one from Bestbuy, but again I don't know the other specs because the link doesn't work.

I could possibly find you a better Laptop if I got around to looking though for around the same price, maybe cheaper.

Looking at both of them I definitely suggest going with the one from bestbuy. The processor in the laptop from walmart is quite weak in comparison to the phenom II in the laptop from bestbuy which is a quad core. I personally feel you will benefit more from it... and it costs less which is a plus.

The one from bestbuy also has an ATI Radeon HD 4250 which is much better than the integrated intel chip in the one from walmart.

Looks like the link is working now.

With the processor the AMD is a quad core while the one in the laptop from wall-mart is a dual core; however it is faster. You wont really notice a difference with the L3 vs L2 cache so I'd go with the AMD p320.

The amd 4250 graphics will be faster but again not enough to make a huge difference. Both have 4GB, first has 2 dimm, 2nd has 1 dimm.

These specs are pretty close together, But looking at all of it I'd say the 2nd one is better.

Like Koby said you might be able to find something a little better for the same price online.

Hope this helps.

I can't open that second link so I can't really compare. Mando's right about them both being pretty similar and the differences being pretty minimal.

Can I ask why you're limiting yourself to just HP laptops? I can understand if its because you get a mighty discount or something. Mine's a Toshiba and it was a pretty good deal considering what I was looking for spec-wise. I opened that first link and that one was about $511 - I shelled out about $540 for mine, including expedited shipping.

The only noticeable difference between that and mine is that mine possesses a blu-ray drive as well as a phenom II 3.0ghz processor.

I would look around at different brands, personally it would behoove you if you want to get the best "bang for your buck."

Shrugs. Mine has special harman/kardon speakers designed for it so they're not factory stock like some laptops. Kind of curious what model you had. My brother bought one like 8 years ago, and it still works like its in immaculate condition. Granted it hasn't really left his desk all that much.
