What do you guys think?

I've heard a lot of rumours and can't wait for its unvieling at E3. Should be sick but so many rumours. Tablet controller, mic in controller, screen in a controller like the old game cube ones umm multicore processor I think one obvious one is 1080 capabilities lol. Oh backwards compatibility. Set to release 2012 either spring or fall. Zelda might be postponed until then. Umm as for games THQ, Midway are supposedly creating games for it soo many rumours soo lil time. lol anyone else excited?

Really you think it'll be underpowered? Yeah maybe underpowered in comparison to what Sony or Microsoft might release 3-4years down the road. But as of right now it'll leave both systems in the dust. Multicore processor, probably an Nvidia graphics card maybe even dual graphics. It'll probably upgrade to a blu-ray disc is my guess. But yes the plus is it'll have all the same family of games just more capabilities.

Nintendo themselves have decided they no longer want to seem like the kids in the group, and have annouced that Project Café's result, which will have a working prototype at the 2012 E3, shall put the 360 and PS3 to shame. They also said that the console should be able to stand up to anything then pair throw at them...and Nintendo has a thing when it comes to their promises...so we shall see.

Hmmm.....I don't have any hopes up, they say like this always, same as with 3DS, but what we get is a meager 128mb of ram, a medicore 200mhz gpu which shares memory with ram and else. Well, that is the technical side, Nintendo is playing bets more on innovations, and playing dynamics, they succeeded by using the formula on Wii, now it is more likely, what new[or revisiting] tech. they are going to bring in this one.

P.S. I guess Nintendo also want to get away with the kids console tag, don't know if the actual console helps in it or not, more or less the game library. Also, I guess this will end up the 7th generation console era[technically, maybe it can initiate 7.5 gen era xD], so you can't guess what Microsoft and Sony has in their minds.

first of all, what is the point of knowing the specs of a console, unless you are making games? The technical doesn't matter if the console isnt fun...

second, yeah they apparently want to try and introduce 3D into the mix, despite the fact that 3D TVs aren't widepsread enough yet, so that in its self wll be interesting. and its already pretty wide spread knowledge what the other two have planned...PS4(or whatever they call it) is aiming for connectivity (to go hand in hand with the psps and the likes) with lifelike graphics, and Xbox 720/Pulse (lol) is aiming to intergrate the Kinect Systems into the console, refine it and make it a single seamless system...

Actually the rumours are pointing it towards the 2011 E3 so the console can be launched in 2012.

Screen in a controller? What'chu talk'n bout Willis? If anything, that reminds me of the old Dreamcast VMUs (Love mine to death, will be buried with it when I die). Though Sonic's last post has a point, isn't that what Portables are for? I mean they did make a cable to hook Gameboy Advances and SP's to the Gamecube to play mini-games and stuff on it so long as you didn't turn off your gameboy or the batteries die.

If anything, this just means controllers will be expensive to replace for the Wii 2... I generally don't ever need to replace mine but $50 is not as costly as $100. It's kind of like cracking an Ipod Touch's Screen. You effectively have a paperweight afterwards if it cracks all the way.

*sighs*

E3 2012 is this June death, its named after the year the games will come out, E3 2011 was last year...*sighs*

Also Lyung, the controllers are confrimed to be tablet size (about half the size of a ipad, so about 7") and will have streaming capablilties. There is rumours that the controller will basically be a stand alone console, that is used to control this console and that they are obviously completely portable.

That's just completely silly though. Why? What's the point in creating a portable "controller/console." I'm fully aware that thing must need a power source or if not require cables to hook onto the new console to sustain usage for prolonged periods. If anything, they really do need to ressurrect what the Dreamcast did with its VMUs, put the memory unit into the controller and it could display stats and stuff for you while you play games. It sounds really stupid how society and gaming is moving more towards touchscreen/using your body.

I rather them invent cyber-gaming so that when I get shot in Call of Duty or something, I can feel it.

My bad I actually thought you meant E3 in 2012. And by what I meant by like the old school gamecube controller is imganie the controller plus a screen. As for confirming a tablet controller I don't think so. Nothin has been confirmed by Nintendo other then a new system. I would hate to have a bulky dreamcast controller. As for a tablet I would wanna see how that plays out although I think buttons and joysticks are the best. The more and more we divulge into reality the more kids forget that at the end of the day it's just a game.

My friend actually showed me a similar controller during CP class. I thought it was alright but still my previous point still stands, the "screen" is going to make this thing extremely expensive to replace.

Sorry i can't be excited about another wii, i got the first one and well i despised it, the only good games on it besides zelda and some mario games were madworld and no more heroes, so i cannot be glad that nintendo is coming out with another motion control console.

But besides that i will wait until i see evidence that this new machine is better than it's first, before deciding that it is worth a look at.

Shrugs. There are quite a few games that never left Japan that are limited to the Wii, for me - Fatal Frame IV is one of the few that Nintendo didn't license for release outside Japan. Kind of still pissed about it, but I'll have to import a copy and then mess with my Wii to put fan-dubs over it so I can try to play it in english text. I mean, a new Wii is cool and all; but I rather them release some of the games that there are dedicated fans all around the world wanting.

i dont understand why people keep calling it the wii 2. Nintendo has annoucened that it's going to be completely different.

another thing, i never give info that isnt confirmed and the touch screen controllers are similar to a gamecube controller in design so far, with a tablet sized touch screen in the middle. heres the bloody proof;
