Web Video Ripper

I'm in need of a bit of help guys, I'm looking for a good web video ripper. I've been trying to find something that will allow me to download videos from Hulu.com but haven't found anything that works. I'm trying to rip the Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot series, but every time I try the program just pops up errors. I would prefer to use a free program if anyone knows of any, but at this point I'll take anything that works. They don't offer this series on dvd and the only torrent I've found is an old demonoid one that's pretty crappy quality.

http://keepvid.com/ try this but Iunno if it works for that site. It does work for plenty of sites though. All formats will be in flv you will just need to convert them.

Sites like Hulu, Crackle, hell even some youtube videos by big companies, apparently have some kind of flash security (can't remember the actual terms) so it's practically impossible to rip them, I know since the dozens of video downloaders I've tried don't work, the only people who may know how to do this are those guys from horrible subs, since they rip from crunchyroll, funimation etc, good luck contacting them though.

I started using flashgot it is a plugin for firefox that has suprised me so far in being able to download nba.com videos. In my opinion it is much more flexible in downloading more site videos than realplayer which I used in the past.

Just go to their flashgot website and download the latest version and read about it.

I remember using their older version 2years but it don't have as much support as it has now.

idl12 is correct both Hulu and Crackle encrypt all their streams except for the commercials. If you use a firefox plugin the only video you will even see for dl will be the commercials. I also checked the site seirachan gave and the faq says neither site is supported.

I'm finding it hard to believe that the open source community hasn't solved this yet. Thanks to everyone who has offered suggestions so far, guess I'll have to keep digging.

Every site is rippable. I've seen people rip hulu and crackle videos. I can find out the program they use. I forgot the name of it but they told me before. Nothing is uncrackable.

L4ugh FlashGot is open source and i believe it will work for the sites you mentioned and like Koby said nothing is impossible to achieve keep trying.

OK, I'm not going to go into FlashGot since I already said it doesn't work, and I guess my last post did seem like I was saying it was impossible.

For anyone who is wanting to download from Hulu or Crackle you can try StreamTransport. I original past over this program because its forum says it's no longer being developed, but I tried it on the Big and Rusty the Boy Robot eps from Hulu and it worked. I am also trying a digimon dl from Crackle right now to see if it works on that site as well, and as of right now it is downloading fine. I'm not sure how useful this program will really be since it's no longer being updated. So any show that's on one of these sites your interested in I would dl while you can.

I'm not sure if this is the program Koby was referring, hopefully not because I would like something to fall back on when the encryption changes, but it does seem to still have a little life left in it.

Edit: The digimon ep is finished downloading and is playing fine so StreamTransport should work on both sites until the encryption changes again.
