You should get your own, also laptops are TERRIBLE for gaming. In order to fix her computer it should be reformatted and everything wiped clean nothing saved. If it's so full of viruses saving anything might infect any other computers it goes unto. I bet she wont do that though so that thing really needs a GOOD a VERY GOOD virus scanner. I still have one sitting around I can host up somewhere

yeah, if you want to save the laptop(I wouldn't, I don't like gaming on laptops)invest in some good cleaners.. CCleaner is good for your registry, I would also get some Anti-virus(not that horrible free stuff) and run that. But my suggestion is to (now before I continue I am going to say I am a budget gamer, My rig did not cost thousands of dollars, nor does it run EVERYTHING, I still need to upgrade mine) buy a decent PC, a video card and a power supply.. at MOST its going to be around 500-600 bucks... which is a CHEAP gaming computer, BTW what games do you play?

I do have my own computer. Don't assume I use my sister's. I'm certain it is her laptop causing the lag because I've scanned her laptop it had 200+ worms. I deleted them but no difference and also when her laptop is not turned on my ping is only 50ms in Sydney. We have 100GB internet plan; Cable. Lol I'm planning on constructing a gaming rig myself. My graphics card and processor aren't that great.

I dont really play many games anymore, I deleted most of them since they took a massive amount of my hard drive and plus I couldn't even play them due to lag. Well the games I have are CODMW2, CSS, Gmod,TF2,L4D, Maple Story.

On a decent computer you can run most of those... Once you get a new computer you'll(this is what I did) get back into gaming and play some more... cause curioustiy will kill you and you know your gonna wanna see what the computer can do...

Sounds like it is either connected to a botnet and maxing out your upload bandwidth DDoSing some websites or, she has BitTorrent running, once again maxing out your upload bandwidth.

If your router supports it I would recommend setting up QoS (Quality of Service). This will prioritize data packets depending on the application sending them, or your router may have the option to set priorities based on IP or MAC address.

you could just try doing a complete restore to take it back to factory day one. My nieces and nephews have a game pc and every once in a while it gets loaded like that and its not worth reinstalling all that over and over. If sis will just get more anyway I would just do a complete restore using the built in Windows back up and make it easy.. You will have to make sure you have hard copies of anything she wants to reload after that did not come with windows.
