Audio Encoding TrueHD and DTS-HD MA

I have a question:

Is there any point in converting True HD 5.1 or 6.1 to FLAC ? Or should I just mux the original True HD straight-up? I mean what is the real point of FLAC ? I notice it is larger than the lossless TrueHD track in its native format. Is the TrueHD compressed during encoding or something? I would not think so.

I am just wondering if there is a benefit or reason for altering the native format of these lossless audio tracks to FLAC during encoding?
