At the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today, it was announced that the Viven animated series on CW Seed has been renewed for Season 2. CW President Mark Pedowtiz said there will likely be six or seven mini-episodes (there were six in Season 1), once again totaling about a half hour of content. Pedowtiz said he regretted not airing a half hour special, edited-together version of Season 1 on the CW network and they hope to rectify that by doing so with Season 2.

It was recently revealed that Megalyn Echikunwoke, who voices Vixen, will debut the character in live-action on an upcoming episode of Arrow.

Pedowitz said there were more possibilities for the character beyond that, remarking, "Hopefully that character can spin itself out or if not, join the Legends [of Tomorrow]."

According to TVInsider, Echikunwoke will be revisiting her role as Vixen (aka Mari McCabe) in a live-action portrayal of the hero on Arrow's upcoming 15th episode, which is set to air on February 24. Vixen already met both Arrow (Stephen Amell) and The Flash (Grant Gustin) on the animated series.

"We’re not only thrilled to be further expanding our DC television universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of the CW Seed hit, Vixen, we’re immensely excited that Megalyn will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe," producer Marc Guggenheim said.

In addition to voicing Vixen in The CW's animated series, Echikunwoke has been involved in a number of other television shows, including The 4400, The Following, Supernatural and Mind Games.
