New Car, New Phone. Help?

Looking to get a new car and a new phone.

Car:
My current car is a lemon and the mechanic said it's going to be 2k-5k to fix it.
-Max insurance on it is around 1k, so, yeah.

I'm looking into maybe an SUV or at least something that's NOT massive, but still a bit higher up than the normal car.

I'd LOVE to get a 2014/15 with the rear view camera, as this is going to be mostly a 'around town, maybe to another town once a month' deal.

Ideas, please?


Phone:
Current phone is a barely function flip phone that's so old Verizon doesn't even sell the charger for it.

I'm really looking for a phone that's going to act as my MP3/FLAC player.
The whole 'watching Netflix' doesn't really get me excited because I HATE watching stuff on small screens
-Hence my lack of mobile gaming platforms after the DS.

What I REALLY like is some kind of not-Apple phone that can take SD cards or has a solid amount of space with a robust music player.

Ideas, please?

Car: you don't mention a price range. From my experience, though, it's all about the people you know. Dealers rarely offer you a decent deal.

Phone: expandable storage is something most manufacturers have done away with... Samsung is one of the few that still offer this feature. Again, you don't mention any price range, but I can tell you the S6 is just around the corner.

Don't know about car since you offered no price range and I personally don't know much about SUVs, just mostly Japanese and Korean imports sport cars.

 

Phone I did recommend the Sony Xperia Z3, but then again it's all upto you and your price range.
