Pre-Notes

So it's the middle of the night, and I'm suuuper cold. Trying to play games but I can't because, you know. I'm suuuuper cold.

Pretty sure that means it's prime time to write a random story. HF reading.
*Fell asleep half way through writing the story and lost a lot of motivation.

Chapter 1.
------------------------------

Jay turned his head, looking out the window with a faint sigh.

He dreaded the car trip. Or rather, what came after it.

The awkward greetings, fake smiles and looks of pity. He hated Everything.

After another sigh slightly louder than his last, he turned his head back.

"It's not like it matters anyway." He mutters quietly, but the words still leave him out of breath.

"I'm tired. Wake me up when we're there." He closes his eyes, preparing to doze off.

The driver nods with a weak expression. "Sure thing." She spits the words out nonchalantly, as if it were someone else's job.

The indicators incessant ticks stopped Jay's sleep, but he doesn't say. He keeps his eyes closed and ignores it, hoping it would stop. It does.

But the engine doesn't.

The silence seems to make everything else louder.

It's nothing like in the hospital. It was quiet there. You could hear any sound that someone else would make, but even so it was always quiet. You wouldn't hear any sounds.

Finally, the car halts and the engine goes quiet. They arrived at their destination.

"Jay. Wake up, you're home." The driver's words are spoken in a matter-of-fact fashion.

"Thanks Doctor." Jay forces a smile, and gives a slight nod.

By the time he has opened the car door, the Doctor is in front of the house holding a small bag of clothes.

The door opens immediately, asif they have been standing there in wait.

Though they probably were.

Another forced smile, but this time it's from the people standing at the front door.

Awkward. Uncomfortable. If a passer-by were to see the situation, these words would be used to describe it.

Sigh

"I'm back." Words leave Jay's mouth weakly, only to be met by an equally feeble 'welcome back'.

The Doctor left shortly after explaining a few things to the parents.

After the awkward formalities, all that is left is silence.

"So Jay, how have you been?" An attempt to break the atmosphere.

A weak attempt.

A faint scowl briefly wrinkles Jay's face, though it did not go unnoticed.

"Sick, as usual." He spoke in his usual, quiet tone, but to his family he was practically shouting.

Silence creeps it's way back into the room.

Sigh

The fourth one of the day.

"I'm going walk to the park."

"Your sister will go with you!"

Jay's endeavor to be alone was quickly shot down. But still, being with one person is still an improvement.

He gives a polite nod.

"Thanks."

It was clear his sister didn't want to go, but she couldn't decline.
------------------------------

End Notes,
Next chapter, the walk to the park!
Or not.

With my motivation gone I probably won't continue this on, 'less there is demand for it.

Thanks for reading my random story.
