Final Fantasy XIV - Superb World, Boring Game in the end

Firstly I work in anime in Japan and the US and have followed Square Enix's work for years. Final Fantasy XIV has a most wonderful world ..the 3d environment is one of the finest yet made for any MMO and the cut scenes are superb movie quality. the story and the game get more bogged down in a grind fest like WOW and at the end game you have to repeat some hairy dungeons almost 70 times to complete the story. I got to level 50 with a Paladin and a White Mage but bowed out ..

the add ons like housing are just insanely over priced. the director is a very talented fellow and I respect him a lot but....

mmo format and basis in just killing killing and more killing to advance is very limited and flawed. I will hope for better to come.

I myself personally enjoyed FFXIV up to a point but unlike most MMO's, it's quests are limited and it's dungeons as story line quests is rather irritating, forcing you into a group of people you don't know to try and progress but more often then not one person in said group of randoms will drop out, be horrible or they'll go brb and not return for 20 or so minutes. The other annoying issue is that when ppl do drop out of it, if you don't wait 15 minutes and put up a dungeon drop vote you get penalised by not being able to use the Duty Finder for 30 mins, seems rather stupid considering you need them to furthur the story so the penalties for other players problems weigh on you.

This may not have happened to everyone but it happened to me more than once, actually in almost every dungeon/duty(like Ifrit) that I've had to complete.
