Tbh I think it would end perfectly that way. It's an emotional scene and also says Luffy finally became the Pirate King. But of course I'd like to see this scene long after Luffy finds One Piece. You know? Just so we can have more epic adventures. Or I could be completely wrong. Since it looks like Shanks is dying and Luffy's giving the hat back before he becomes pirate king.

In all honestly, I have a feeling that Shanks will die before the series finishes. Luffy will give back the hat then, and afterwards he will have new motivation to wreck all the bad guys and finally find the One Piece. Still, it would be a good ending and i'm sure fans would love it

why is it that both of you want to finish off shanks, he is the motivation for luffy. do you still think luffy would still go on to be a great pirate if shanks died.

 

also what if luffy killed shanks.

I don't see Luffy killing Shanks, seeing as Luffy looks up to Shanks as a mentor or a brother. And that would be a sucky ending imo if it ended as Shanks died

huge spoiler for those who are still in "thriller bark arc". the spioler is about after thriller bark arc

 

 

Luffy considered Ace as his mentor and brother, yet he died. and it was like the major turning point in his life. his determination of not letting his friends get hurt only solidified after Ace's death and luffy became even more stronger. may be Shanks death will make luffy become a super saiyan type or something and there will be a spinn-off of one-piece later. later.
