Remember what I said about the PS4 ...? Yeah, forget that.

So E3 is long gone and I've just gotten back from a long trip to the village.

An actual village btw, as in no-internet-wake-up-at-five-drink-milk-from-udder village. Not really a bad thing but 3 days of limited access through a slow as fuck mobile plan made me contemplate through 2 things -

1) XBox One doesn't have a chance in my country. Nope. Not happening. I don't care what they say about tethering through phones and what not. In a place such as where I live, where hard core gamers are hesitant to drop 60 dollars on a full retail game (cuz they earn like 5 bucks a week on average) and prefer to mod their 360/PS3 instead, trying to sell them an idea to stay online all the fucking time when the power may go out at any second is just ... ridiculous. But fuck it, enough people are already hating on this device. My input isn't necessary.

2) The era of the 360/PS3 is about to shine. I got so dazzled by the shiny graphics of FF-15 that I forgot one key factory - history is repeating. Back at the PS3 reveal, they did the same thing with FF 13 and the FF 7 tech demo and all but hey, the best thing I remember from those years is #12. That game may have a bunch of problems but that world looked damn near amazing. And it took me watching a young village kid playing the thing on a closed off CRT TV on a PHAT modded PS2.

So yeah, don't buy a PS4 ... yet ... or do if you don't have a PC or can't afford a PC and wanna play Black Flag at it's peak settings.

Ah fuck it, do what you want. This gen's gonna be so much fun. I can't predict anything anymore. Will history repeat itself?

Will the XBone perform just like the Dreamcast?

Will the Wii U, a yet again previous gen console be able to compete with the giant that is the PS4 and the XBone (I'm sorry, MS fans. That name is stuck for good in my head now.)

Will Sony be able to compete with the Microsoft on the online ground that MS has a clear advantage on simply because of it's early presence?

I don't know. I just don't know. And it's making me even more excited.

So there's the crowd saying that consoles are dead and this generation is a waste.

Then there's the crowd arguing about the DRM rights and what-not.

I'm gonna join the crowd that's waiting for this gen's hot releases, games that are gonna push the limit of the current consoles till they can squeeze every bit of functionality and graphical fidelity they can -

Persona 4, FF 12, Naruto: Ultimate Nina, Guilty Gear, God Hand, Yakuza, DmC 3, God of War 2, Okami, Kingdom Hearts 2, Dirge of Cerberus.

All these PS2 games came near the eve of the PS3 or well into the PS3's lifeline.

So I say to the crowds - I shall eateth my popcorn and prayeth that Atlus magically pulls out a Persona 5 out of it's buttocks and places it on my PS3.

I am keeping my current gens while also getting a PS4 so.  Ill get all the good games on both =)

I'm doing the same. I'll be getting a PS4 just so that I've got one. There have already been reports of stock shortages and Sony have increased their sales forecasts on the back of E3.

@Nero, I'm very much with you. Despite intending to get a PS4, possibly on launch, haven't decided yet, I may still get some of the cross-generation titles on 360/PS3. As much as the new consoles will have nicer graphics, this is not always the case at the start of a consoles life, and probably won't be with some launch titles. I'm more bothered about exclusives, like Thief next year that isn't planned for this generation of consoles, indeed, Thief specifically was delayed so it could make the jump

Think about it, Sony were pumping out PS2s for thirteen years. There PS3 has been around for seven... if that trend continue that means we have around five or six years of PS3 support hypothetically.

I don't even have the money for a PS4.

Unless my parent agrees to get it for me (doubtful) it'll be a LONG time before I get a PS4 too.

Besides...

The graphics of Persona 3 FES (PS2) have impressed me/made me smile so far.

I can't wait to see what Persona 4 is like.

To bad I'll be too busy trying to figure out how to get the other characters to level up since Minato is pretty overleveled right now.

You said a line there Nero.

"Ah Fuck it. Do what you want".

I lke that line. Most people need a faq and a guiding crowd to tell them what to do. I like the Ps4 because I've been into games all my life and I lke the games that may be coming to the playstation.

I dislike the Xbox one because I will not use about 60% of the features that the consoles has to offer.
