Nintendo Direct 1/23/13

So Nintendo had another Nintendo Direct early this morning.  It was focused on the Wii U this time around.  There was a lot said so I'll just be mentioning the stuff I found interesting.  You can see the whole thing in the video below.

 

 

We've been hearing rumors for quite some time that the Wii U would be getting a Virtual Console system that would allow you to play the game on the Wii U pad.  This was confirmed.  Now the big question is at what cost if you bought it on Wii?  Well you will get a discounted price.  An NES game that you might have bought would only cost 1$ for the upgrade.

 

Nintendo is also opening up its Miiverse service to cell phones.  We can expect some smartphone apps in the future.

 

Bayonetta 2 is coming along nicely.  I still want them to release the first one on Wii U so people who never played it can.

 

I'm not sure why Iwata continues to talk about the new Super Smash Bros.  I'm perfectly fine waiting a few years to hear more about it.  I know these things take a long time to develop and it'll be a pain hearing little bits every time there's a conference or something.

 

There's an all new 3D Mario game that was confirmed.  I'm excited about this because I quite enjoyed the 2 Galaxy games and the Super Mario 3D Land game.  They also said that they are starting to develop the next Mario Kart game for Wii U.  Honestly I'm perfectly fine with the 3DS one for now. I don't need another Mario Kart game for awhile.  I would really like a new F-Zerio game though.  I wish they would do that instead. :[

 

Remember a few months back on NeoGAF when that one guy hacked Miiverse and found an unidentified Yoshi game title?  Well it's official.  We'll be getting a new Yoshi game.  It has the same art style as Kirby's Epic Yarn.

 

Last but not least!  Nintendo confirmed that the next 3D Zelda game would be coming eventually and it would once again try to evolve for a new generation of gamers.  They'll try to change up the dungeon routine and add more multiplayer.  I'm a little unsure about the multiplayer part though...  I like playing Zelda by myself, and I can take in all that it has to offer.  ALSO there's going to be an HD remake of Wind Waker.  Bloom all the things! I've never played WW since I didn't own a GC so count me in!

Wow, the last part of this video make my decision a lot easier! I am totally going to buy a Wii U, plenty of good games im looking forward to. Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, the next Smash Brothers, and probably Xenoblade 2 (which might be some online play included too).

Me and my brothers love the Super Smash Bros series and have been grabbing any little bit of information on it as it becomes available. One thing that they are doing with the game now it not releasing any major info until the games release to make it a surprise, make it something special. Which I think is a good idea as when I track games day by day and collect every little bit of info, the game usually isnt all that great on release day.
