You don't get an A in an essay if you just reiterate the prof's lecture, you get an A for thinking for yourself, then demonstrating that you have the writing skill to put those thoughts on paper. If you think about it though, teachers really don't have enough time to develop a healthy hate for any one student. Most of the time the teacher only interacts with students for one year/one semester or if they teach a lot of classes at different levels, only a couple years/semesters. Interaction during that time is often limited to 1-2 hour lectures and non-face-to-face interaction.
