† L4ugh
If the drives in the labtops are both sata. You should at least be able to use them in the desktop. I wouldn't use them as every day drives, but they could serve as non-connected backups of your os. Just use a backup tool like clonezilla after you get everything the way you want it. Then back it up to one of the labtop drives (if they're large enough). Once that's finished, you can just disconnect it from your PC and leave it till it's needed again. You'll need an adapter to make it fit your case, but you'll also need that for your SSD drive (unless it comes with one). How long are you wanting this PC to last? If it's only for a few years, I would go for specs like dark4yoyo mentioned. If it's to last as long as possible. Then I'd go with something similar to what ballard mentioned. I would personally swap the heatsink for something like the Corsair H60 Liquid CPU Cooler. I would also prefer this, or this for a case. The heatsink and case are just my own personal opinions though. Also have to say that I don't really agree with the Rampage mobo. If your going to go all out, you may want to take a look at the ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77. It's a larger board and offers better placement of the pci cards. Not sure about the "thermal armor" idea, seems a bit gimmicky to me, but it offers more sata connecters then you'll ever need.
Leviathan87
ballard: "You could always get both and use the SSD for the OS, and the HDD for storage."I think this is what I will do since I'd love to have A LOT of storage space for this computer as it will most likely hold all of my anime etc, although for the money I'm spending I may also invest in some 1tb hd's to keep some of it portable or just as backups.having a ssd as your boot drive make things much faster you'll notice. zx0
As other have said, build your own. If you buy a pre built desktop you will pay way over the odds.If you are serious about gaming on your PC get a good gaming mouse and keyboard. Personally I like Razer, but try a few out before you buy so you know what suits you.
