† Shazi
curious to know what everyone's school years were like. start with Elementry school, middle school if your country has it and then high school, then college or university if you got that far my primary school (elementry) was pretty quiet. though there was one time where i had no friends because of a fight for like a month.Since Australia doesn't really have middle school i went straight from primary to high school which is years 7-12 which was fun, but i was the ONLY person i knew that was into anime and games which kind of singled me out. also coming out in year 10 and being pretty much the only Bisexual in the school (hard to believe but i didn't know any others) cause a lot of ridicule as well.Tafe (community college) has been a much better experience, i'm learning things i'm interested in, as well as being surrounded by people who are into the same things as me as well, not to mention i met dart there so what about you guys, what was or is your schooling like? † Emotional Outlet
I doubt you were the only bisexual. It seems not to be something that people discuss publicly while in school for some reason.Elementary school I don't remember much. I had one of my teeth knocked out accidentally by a teacher--I was standing at her elbow and she turned around quickly, catching me in the mouth. Out goes a baby tooth. ALAS. There was another time where I was randomly sad at school and my teacher told me to suck it up because I didn't have a reason to be sad. THANKS!! Also ended up going to two or three different elementary schools because my dad was in the Navy, so I didn't have many friends. This was also when my parents were divorcing, so that was super mega awesome, too!I went to two different middle schools. It was about the same as elementary school--didn't have a lot of friends. It would be the dawn of super sad EO! I'd go to school all mopey and sad all the time. And, just as I had learnt in elementary school, nobody cared. SO MUCH ANGST. OH GOD, THE ANGST. I went to school dances and always ended up crying and miserable in the bathroom. Social failure. The summer of eighth grade I was kidnapped to Hawaii. Woo-hoo.As far as high school goes, I went to two different ones--this time because my dad retired and we couldn't stay in California any more. Still didn't have many friends. Still mopey and sad all the time. I'd sit in the cafeteria on my free period and play my DS or listen to my MP3 player. My second high school had a "No Electronics" policy that seemed to not matter as long as it wasn't during class. Not that that stopped me from cutting a hole in my hoodie and threading my headphones through it to my ear during class. Long hair covered the evidence. Interesting story (interesting to me, anyway)--I dated a girl named Nur for a short while. Unremarkable fact until I later join the military and my assigned Arabic name was... Nur. Coincidence? All throughout my mandatory schooling I was mostly a 4.0 student, so that was neato. I may have been a social pariah (because I was kind of quiet and one of those gothy kids ohgodgetherawayfromme), but I sure could do my homework and take tests, haha. Except for APUSH. I failed every single quiz and test in that class, but luckily! Luckily I can write well enough to convince my teacher to give me a 5 on most of my essays, even if I had no idea what I was talking about! I passed with a B, thanks to the way the homework and final project were weighed. I don't know what possessed me to think that taking an AP course in history was the right choice--I hate history. lemmingllama
Elementary school kind of sucked, social recluse and always had my head in a book. Over the course of 3 years, I had 1 friend and read half of the school library. Then I did some random government testing crap and they said I had to leave to go to a gifted school or whatever...Elementary school #2 was better, my teachers were actually legit. Failed French like a boss because my previous school didnt teach us anything, and my assignments took forever to write because I couldnt do cursive well. Became super legit in math. No real friends, piles of acquaintances .I also had a mixed middle/high school. Middle school was easy-mode, now in Catholic school (thats three school boards I traversed) Aced almost everything since it was what I had been doing for the past couple years in school #2. Make 2 friends, but 1 leaves since his mom is being stalked by her ex-husband. Highschool was ok. Kept that 1 friend and made and lost some others. Kept my average in the 80's, didnt really try for anything and just kinda did the work so it was done. Easily got into the university I wanted. Went to prom twice, like a boss. University was hard, but still good. Actually met people that I could totally relate with and made some awesome friends. Got through with average grades, got a job upon graduating. Bam, fast forward to where I am now.
kashem2
elementary school- i was picked on a lot so i was in fights many times. 5 visits to the principals office within one week one time.(never started them btw) didnt really have friends during school. so i cried a lot cuz i was lonely most the time.middle school. - still no friends in school. everyone i lived next to at home was younger then me so different grade or just didnt talk to me. this is when i realized that i didnt really fit in with them. lunch time was nice tho. the school was right next to a Dunkin Donuts and a BK so the school would always have them for lunch =) and there was one person at lunch i would talk to. but he moved away early on so i sat alone the rest of the time. napping usually. then just b4 8th grade im moved across the country to a a very new school. sence it was the last year of middle school. i didnt get to make many friends but had more then b4.high school- was the best. people i knew the grade b4 went to the same school has me so i had some friends. that made it way better. has i got to know them better i found that they enjoyed the same things as me and are on group was made. witch i was quickly made the leader of lol. giving me my nick name that im still called to this day lol. after gaining friends a got confdentice as well. so thats when i started having fun learning piano , guitar, and singing. durning my 2nd year i preformed on stage and became high school famous lol. and continued to preform then on xP. i did alot of things so much so im a legend now xD. best time in school ever.i did a bit of college but not much to speak of. i was always getting C's in school for i have a writing problem. i have a hard time putting things in words so essays and things are something i cant really do. i also fail at spelling. so when i did make it to college, as im sure you can guess, essays in every class. like 5 page essays everywhere. i tried asking for help but there wasnt really anything the school could do. so made me depressed and eventually i stopped going. (btw this is proly the longest thing ive ever writin lol)
Alegend1994
UK education system:Infant School - Age 6-7Primary School - Age 8-11Secondary School - Age 12-16College/Sixth Form - Age 17-18University - Age 19+During infant school, elementary I guess, I was a lot of work and I probably had ADHD and would be in the principles office like 3 times a week, which I can't remember but my parents remind of what trouble I was back then.Primary school I was still hyperactive but near to age 11 I had calmed down and was luckily getting high level 5's in my tests, could get either a 3, 4 or 5 and then A, B or C where A is better (e.g. 5A is the best 3C is the worst). This was the first time I got bullied by some kid and reacting violently which almost got me expelled.Secondary School were the best school days of my life to date since I was lucky to be quite clever and never needed to revise for good results, except for English lessons were I barely passed with a C. Due to good grades I could use all my breaks and off school time just relaxing with friends and during lunch times we created some great memories that we reminisce about now that most of my friends are in college with me. But I was still a trouble maker, no longer just idiotic trouble making but strategized trouble making, which constantly put me on thin ice with the principle and got me suspended a couple of times and so very close to being expelled. Finished with two or three A*'s, a couple of A's, the rest were B's and a C in English and lots of memories and friends that unfortunately go to other colleges. Now in College where work has finally become a lot of work, so much time spent revising now, and my personality has completely changed, due to a new view of life and starting anime at the start of my college year. Taken up lots of new things with new friends but lost a lot of old friends due to my different subject choices. I've taken lots of responsibility since starting college so I had to completely do away with my immature attitude and behaviour. Not sure whether I'm going to university or not, due to the fact of cost and not sure whether university would be wasted on me or not. I'm taking a gap year so I'll be able to decide then.
