RikuoAmero
What do you guys think about using a solid state HD for the OS and programs to include game installs and a normal 500 gig hd for storage?Great idea. In fact, on Friday night, I ordered for myself a 120GB SSD (Windows + Programs + Games) and a 1TB hard drive for internal storage. I will have to share something I found. When looking up SSDs, this thing had me drooling. Now what is that? It's called a Revodrive and it plugs in to a PCI-E x4 slot. It's a hybrid drive, 100GB SSD and 1TB hard drive all in one, and if your motherboard supports boot from PCI-E, you can actually install your OS onto it! And the most friggin' fantastic thing about it? Read: Up to 910 MB/sWrite: Up to 810 MB/sThat's right! Close to a fuckin' GIGABYTE per second in Read and Write speeds! Excuse me, have to get a towel to wipe up the drool...I'll be so getting this (or an updated version with more space) in a couple years for the next computer I build...too bad the computer I'm building right now doesn't have enough slots in the motherboard (they'll be taken up with the two graphics cards and sound card I plan to buy). Second, the user manual doesn't really explain much now does it...First, you should do some checking around the entire computer. Is the processor in the socket neatly? No bent pins? Are all cables connected properly? Power is running to every component? Are the memory sticks in the sockets completely?Check and then check three times again and then try starting it again. It could be something simple as a loose cable...Second, because you mentioned that the Crosshair V has its Red CPU LED on, then that could indicate a possible problem with your cpu, either something simple or maybe something serious. Does your system POST at all?Try resetting the UEFI. There is a jumper switch on the motherboard. The user manual should have information on that...
