Bardon
Currently I've been a bit active on yugioh lately on other sites so might as well make a thread about it here where I can give ya my updates every now and then. Would like koby to sticky this coz it really would help having one main thread for all the latest news of the game.Anyway, here's what came out today on the OCG news:There's going to be a Duel Art Campaign and the first 10k participants of this event will receive a Horakhty Creator Of Light promo card! This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by tributing 1 card of each you control whose original card name is "Obelisk the Tormentor", "Winged Dragon Of Ra" and "Slifer the Sky Dragon". The Special Summon of this card cannot be negated. The Player that Special Summons this card automatically wins the duel. Before anyone starts thinking that this isn't going to be a legibly used card due to not having Slifer, well guess what? On 17th December 2011 Slifer the Sky Dragon is going to be released as a promo card too! This card cannot be Set. This card cannot be Normal Summoned except by Tributing 3 monsters. The Normal Summon of this card cannot be negated. When this card is Normal Summoned, Spell/Trap Cards and effects cannot be activated. If this card is Special Summoned, it is sent to the Graveyard during the End Phase. The ATK and DEF of this card are each equal to the number of cards in your hand ×1000. When your opponent successfully Normal Summons or Special Summons a Monster in face-up Attack position, decrease its ATK by 2000 points. If the ATK is decreased to 0 by this effect, destroy the monster.Personally speaking, this card looks way way better than Ra and aside from the fact that it is my favorite out of the 3. I also find it interesting how Ra is the only one out of the 3 that failed to have the kind of effects being closest to the anime ones like obelisk and slifer have. And yeah there's going to be another premium pack due on that date as well, which will have some of the equally broken cards too like Ma'at and Purgatory dragon.Sources: http://shriek.twoday.net/stories/55773984http://shriek.twoday.net/stories/55773990http://shriek.twoday.net/stories/49612961As soon as these cards are out on DN, then damn all hell will break loose......~Comment nao! shyguysteve
whoa, thought things with yu-gi-oh cards had died down.after the syncro cards I didn't think they'd make anymore 'regular' types.but weren't those 3 'god' cards already released some years ago? Bardon
Well guess I'm going to revive it then! lolI always never liked synchros to begin with. The yugioh I've known since childhood had classic cards/strategies and were alot more original, certainly not like the current overly used broken metas that killed the fun of the game. >.>The 3 cards you're talking bout were the original collector types, they'd be of no use in tournament duels coz they had no rulings written on em and their assumed effects were all broken anime based. These new ones that started being released since last year are the legal versions that have been watered down to be used for official duels. shyguysteve
Ah, kay. I remember some super collector friends I had they would get like 2 sets of the best top of the line cards that yu gi oh would release. they had the coolest shit!I also like the old school yu gi oh and few of the new ones. might start collecting some here and there again.but wont those new releases eventually be banned from official duels? Seabs
Yes, I prefer old-school as well. While synchros can be fun, the obsessive swarming and broken abilities just make things boring. But playing an anti-meta deck can be wonderfully fun, even if it just relies on preventing and negating. Watching people running cookie-cutter decks getting pissed off and claiming that my deck is the bad one because it negates everything they do is priceless.
