Koby Posted December 3, 2009 Report Share Posted December 3, 2009 The January issue of Wani Books' Monthly Comic Gum magazine has confirmed that production on a new Ikkitousen television anime series, Ikkitousen XX, has been green-lit. It will be the fourth television series based on Yuji Shiozaki's Ikkitousen manga about girls in fighting tournaments. (The manga runs in Monthly Comic Gum.)Geneon Entertainment once released the first Ikkitousen anime series in North America, and Funimation now has the license. Media Blasters announced at Anime Expo 2007 that it had licensed the second Ikkitousen anime series, Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny. Media Blasters CEO John Sirabella has since revealed earlier this month that his company acquired the third series, Ikkitousen: Great Guardians, as well.
