what if... ?

I thought of making a thread basically all about asking and answering a "what if" possible scenario for an anime/manga series.

I'll use naruto as an example cause its the only on-going series I have an interest in.

like what if itachi killed all the uchiha (including sasuke) except his lover...

or if itachi had a son, or naruto did not have the kyuubi in him. if orochimaru was hokage and so on.

if you can think of a scenario worth posting, post it here, see what people think of it or what answers they come up with.

I usually come up with my own answers for my questions but go ahead and answer them if you want, also what if... tobi is Madara's descendant? like a son, grand son, great grand son. or nephew...

So this isn't a serious discussion so don't blow up if you don't like what you see, its totally "what if ?"

What you're basically asking for then are fanfictions. Plenty of those on fanfiction.net.

So a hypothesis on what would happen if X happened...

Let's say...Danzo had volunteered to get killed by the 20 cloud ninjas in his youth. Here's what we know would then happen.

1) Second Hokage would still live.

2) Hiruzen Sarutobi would more than likely have still become sensei to Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade. Only this time, he's not distracted by his duties as Hokage...so is able to make the three of them even stronger than they really were.

3) Because they're stronger, the Sannin beat Hanzo. As a result, the Leaf Village conquers Rain. Jiraiya finds the Ame Orphans and brings them back to the village, where he and they become a squad.

4) At some random time for some random reason, Tobirama dies/retires, and Hiruzen becomes Hokage.

5) One effect of his becoming Hokage later is that he retires from the post much later than he originally did.

6) Kushina gives birth to Naruto, Tobi pops up, but Jiraiya is around (that actually brings up something that I should have put up in my Plot Breakers, why wasn't Jiraiya around for Naruto's birth? He wasn't yet hunting after Orochimaru, because Orochimaru's experiments and subsequent running from the village happen after Minato's death and Sarutobi becomes Hokage again). While Minato uses Flying Thunder God Jutsu to get Naruto and Kushina to safety, Jiraiya fights Tobi, eventually sealing the Kyuubi into Naruto at the cost of his own life.

7) Sometime after this, Orochimaru's experiments...only this time, Minato is there with Sarutobi. Sarutobi lets Orochimaru go, but Minato catches up to him and finishes him off (after an epic battle of course).

8) The Hinata Hyuuga kidnapping debacle occurs as usual, only this time, Minato's mere presence at the negotiating table is enough to cow the Kumo ninja into submission. Not only that, but when you look out the window and see Nagato innocently "practicing" juggling several large boulders the size of houses with Chibaku Tensei? A real piece treaty is signed and Hizashi lives.

9) Nagato later on takes Naruto as an apprentice, when Naruto is eight and a newly graduated Genin.

10) The Uchiha Affair happens, only this time, when Itachi sides with the Hokage, the order is given to assassinate the coup leaders only. On the night of the hit, he meets with Tobi, whom he tricks into "helping" with the hit. Just before carrying out the deed, he alerts (via crow, that Tobi doesn't notice), the Hokage. Minato, Sarutobi and the Ame Orphans ambush Tobi, while Itachi kills the coup leaders. Sarutobi dies when he decides to seal Tobi...only he seals Tobi into himself! Since the seal requires he give up his life, this ensures that Tobi dies.

11) Nagato, as the oldest and most experienced active ninja in the village, becomes the Fourth Hokage. Minato is pegged to succeed him as the Fifth Hokage.

Aaaand....I'll guess I'll stop there. Don't want to actually write this fanfic...I mean what-if scenario.
