lemmingllama
I normally create a system restore point in a seperate partician every week. Makes it so that I dont lose my stuff. Though luckily I havent killed off entire hard drives before unless they just stop working

lemmingllama
Care to share any names of that software?Diskdigger is a powerful one and will find even fragments of a file, however is a bit slower. Undelete Plus is one thats good for finding stuff you just deleted, but will find alot less and give less information than diskdigger. Both are free too
† Irish
Thanks, I have been downloading and trying things since I got home from work, most of them say there is nothing there, when I know damn well there is. I'll Keep trying thanks for the suggestions.
ZeroPenguins
Well a good chance of restoring 80% or so of the data on the HDD if you didn't format it twice or written data over it with an undelete tool.

zolockit
Try testdisk or ddrescue if you're feeling adventurous and want to attempt salvage. Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
