Dae314
So what was the formula for introducing myself here? Oh right:How did you find Kametsu? My friend introduced me when I asked how he got his animeWhats your top 5 Anime?Clannad After StoryCode Geass R2Tengen Toppa Gurren LagannAngel BeatsHigurashi No Naku Koro Ni KaiWhat your top 5 Video Games?RecettearLegend of Zelda: Ocarina of TimeStepManiaBF:BC2 (may become BF3 if I like it come Oct 25)PortalWhat are some of your hobbies?ProgrammingComputer Building and Hardware CounselingComputingAnime (of course)GamingDo you do graphics? If so what graphic programs do you have?NoDo you have any questions?Avatar change is locked too ?Even detail editing ?Now that the formality is done, lets get down to business (not really). I'm male, from Hawaii, attending college currently, and generally pretty happy with life. I speak a little 日本語 and usually prefer subs to dubs. My music tastes are trance, dream trance, techno, happy hardcore, modern classical, electronic classical, anime music (OST/OP/ED), and basically anything I consider smooth (however smooth jazz is not my favorite). My current favorite song is this. I mentioned above that I like building computers and I do hardware consultation. My guide is located here and I do most of my consultation with the awesome people over at the bit-tech forums. I hope that wasn't considered advertising since that is a part of my life which I can share and use to give back to this community, and I do not make money off of it. The guide's actually due for an update which I will be rolling out hopefully this weekend if I have time =/. I also mentioned above that I play stepmania; I haven't played that game in a while due to the fact that I've been pretty busy, but I'm still able to play songs rated 10-11 fairly well. If anyone else shares that interest I'd love to trade songs with you .Enough about me, what about you? What is this forum about other than anime? Who are the admins? Who are the active members? What kind of hardware are you running? Are you due for an upgrade soon ? Maybe we can meet up on BF3? Give me what you've got forum!
ZeroPenguins
Wow a nice introduction thread! I'm sure everyone will welcome you in open arms with an epic intro like that =). So a warm welcome to Kametsu forums! To answer your two questions on locking avatar and detail editing you need like 5 post before your account is unlocked. This is to prevent spammers or something, I dunno ask the admin or something, I'm quite new here myself. My favorite animes are pretty much the same as yours, actually I don't just have one favorite but heaps that I can't rank.Anyway really nice guide that you wrote, very in detail. Just had a quick look at it and very professional but yet newbie friendly at the same time. I guess my computer is due for an GPU upgrade very soon, got an old ATi HD 4870, I mean it is still fine but waiting for the new HD 7000 series. But I might not see the point of upgrading due to the fact I don't play much games anymore other than TF2. My computer specs are quite outdated >.>Intel i7 920 @ 3.33GHzThermalright Ultra 120 Extreme (Air heatsink)9GB RAM in triple channel @ 1333Mhz (Timings don't know and don't care xD)Some Gigabyte X58 motherboard (UD3 I believe)ATi HD 4870 1GBOS: Windows 7, Windows Developer Preview, Windows Vista, Linux Mint, Fedora. (64bit)HDD: Over 3TB of storage (1x2TB, 2x640GB)Monitor: LG Flatron W2252TQ(Built it on a budget so no fancy stuff, motherboard and CPU it self cost almost 50% of my budget)That's pretty much my computer specs, as you can see not the latest hardware. But if go back to 2009 when I build it then yes. If you're wondering why I didn't overclock my CPU more? It because if I push it more than 3.33GHz I realize it's a total waste since my RAM is bottlenecking it. I have to push it to 1600Mhz if I want to overclock my CPU more. Since you're asking who are the active members, that would be me xD. This forum is for a bunch of otakus who have no life, just kidding. Really this forum you can talk about anything you want, but it is more focused on anime so don't expect people to know everything. Other than that, you should listen to some kpop and jpop or jrock. =)
Dae314
I'm very strict when rating anime. Of those 5 up there, only the first 3 I would rate 10's. AB and Higurashi are actually 9 and 8.5 (shows up as 8 on MAL b/c there's no decimals ) respectively. What are some of your other favorites?Your computer specs are fine xD. It's not old at all. There's a lot of people running Core 2 Duos with stable overclocks who are completely happy with their build (most of them have updated their graphics to at least 4th generation Nvidia or 5th generation AMD tho). Now might actually be a good time to upgrade your memory to a 12GB kit of 1600MHz memory . RAM prices have been at an all time low for a while now. What kind of case do you have that bottled up in?Oh this is an anime forum? Sorry, I thought I was joining a political discussion forum I'll just be leaving now... jk, I know this is an anime forum, so I know kinda what to expect ^-^. I'll likely keep my nose in the tech section although I don't know much about video so maybe that isn't the place i should be hanging out ^^; What better way to learn tho . ZeroPenguins
Yeah been considering on upgrading my RAM to 12gb I recently brought 2x4gb of RAM. I will buy another one when I have enough cash, I didn't mention this but right now I'm quite poor lol. I know that I can push my old 1333Mhz RAM to 1600MHz but I'm lazy to do it at the moment. I would have to test it to see if it works and no memory errors and all the other crap that would take too long. Don't worry about learning about videos, I'm quite skilled at computers myself but I'm still a total nub at encoding. I didn't bother learning it but I'm sure it should be a no brainer since programming is harder right? This place is great for downloading animes off direct download sites, not torrents (I hate torrents) but of course you can use torrents as well. Just use Jdownloader and it should be an easy process for you. I pretty much only post on tech section myself. Here's few more of my favorites Darker Than Black, Cowboy bebop, Samurai Champloo, Tsubasa Chronicles OVAs...etc, etc*On other note: Don't take me too seriously I tend to joke around a lot*

Most people find it easier to just buy a higher rated kit rather than try to overclock it themselves. Most of the time you can't get a module to overclock 1 step higher (i.e. 1333->1600, etc) either . If you can spare $75, you can get 12GB easily: example. If you ask me I don't need to overclock it more since my CPU is not bottlenecking my GPU right now.
