the man773 Posted December 11, 2011 Report Share Posted December 11, 2011 I'm agnostic but I believe that the religions we know today are both the product of greed (crusades is a perfect example) and our species trying to find a sense of security and normality, being able to explain the unknown by claiming it's the work of some supreme deity and that it's all part of a plan lessens the actual fear of the unknown. Lightning used to be signs of the gods in Greece and Rome because they didn't understand it, the sun was once believed to be a god in a chariot with four flaming horses for pete's sake.
